They are quite good actually. Not as good bose qc II but do the job well.

    • There is a fair price difference at the moment though.
Admittedly, I've never lived with any Bose headphones, so I can't judge, really.

    • I'm not too sure about that, had a quick listen to both of them yesterday playing some music from youtube. The Sennheisers were so much clearer, that I think the boses might not have been configured properly. And comparing them to my DT990s only the sennheisers could really touch them.

If you want the Sennheisers for $127 and happy with refurbs, there's a 15% off the outlet store if you can find the student card needed (instagram search)

      • Both are very good. I'm using both (not at same time of course) but I felt the noise cancellation and the comfort on bose is a bit better. As @obud one mentioned before.
Tge sound quality is amazing on both. I felt the side buttons on sennheiser are better design and small. But I notice the bose connect fast on my pixel 2 xl and also has a bose app which work quite fine on the other rhqnd sennheiser left this model behind on their new app.

I own these. I like these.

I didn’t pay for these, however.

    • Can't beat free.

I'll give you $10 and a pair of headphones. Boom. Lawyered.

        • Objection!

          The headphones are still free.

You were just also given $10.

The controls are some of the worst of any headphone I have used. The voice prompts are extremely annoying to me. The headphone cable is proprietary. It says it can connect to multiple devices, but in reality this is a pain. There is a static hiss at low volumes. There is a beep every time you touch the volume buttons, and it fades out the music while it plays the beep so it's very frustrating to gauge volume. Sound is good, not as good as my old bose QC35 or even my old jabra, it's very neutral which is great, but lacks in soundstage. Headband has the least amount of padding of any headphone I have owned, and gives me fatigue quickly on the top of my head. Cups are comfortable. The Headphones look huge on peoples head if this is of concern to anyone. NC is fine. I wouldn't buy again in my experience.

    • Pretty sure Sony XM3 has voice prompts too (I think every recent Sony headphones do it).

The WI-C200’s I got for $25 have voice prompts, when you turn them on they go:
      * quick beep * “power on” then “battery _%” then “bluetooth” connected (this all takes less than 3 seconds so it’s over quicker than you think).
I actually am fine with it as it feels as if I am using the XM3’s. Changing volume is silent though which I prefer.
When turning off they just go * beep * “power off”.
I like it on these cheap earbuds it just makes them feel more premium. Battery % announcement is useful too.

      • Although to turn on you have to press and hold for 4 seconds, and to turn them off you have to hold it for about 8 seconds. It's a very long time to hold a really tiny thin button, and having no indicator of being on makes it extremely frustraiting, instead of just on/off to check, or feeling a button or switch as an example, I would have to press and hold it to see if it would turn off or on, just to see if it was on. These don't tell you battery percent, only when it gets to 30% then it constantly reminds you with beeps over and over and over all the way to 0%.

        • On WI-C200 it’s about 2-3 seconds hold for both on & off.
Yeah I prefer the conventional on/off switch myself.
Beeping you mentioned would be annoying.
A bit off topic here so I will end it at that.

I have these, pretty happy with them. Bose probably better headphones but these are a much better 'bang for the buck' proposition. For how often I use them and what I listen to (Audiobooks on the train) these are much better value for money.

  • Bought these for someone at work this morning and JB Hi-Fi delivered these an hour later through TOLL for $8.99 !!

  • I got the Sennheiser HD 4.50 BTNC for $160 from eglobal like 2 years ago, not sure why they are still price gorging it here in australia
