  • anyone used?

    • +1

I am using Genbolt outdoor camera and it is really very good and reliable. I've used multiple chinese noname cameras before and that was nightmare. I actually want to buy 2 of these and replace my old cameras which I need to disconnect from power to reboot them.

  • Although I have seen cheaper cams, read it supports BlueIris so jumped on it.
Have builders coming in a few weeks to renovate downstairs, so should be easy to integrate into my existing BI setup and capture anyone heading up-stairs and generate alerts.
Don't think this is a bargain though, isn't this the regular price?
Regardless has Pan\Tilt, in my price range seemed decent value.
Will test it and leave a review.

  • I have had a couple for about 6 months. Great camera. Good value and bullet proof so far. Can be a bit tricky to setup as it doesn't appear to be 100% ONVIF compatible but good enough. Big thread with info here. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/435590

LOL the guy at 1.28 cracks me up.
Its probably the same guy who recorded the youtube video but trying to look very very suspicious

  • Any outdoor camera deal?

  • FYI: Mine arrived today, and it seems 100% compatible with BlueIris, discovery worked and all the features just worked.
I am using over WiFi afer seting up via Ethernet cable… no issues.
I notice that the negative reviews complained about the power supply being hard to replace (must relate to an older model), as mine was shipped with a standard USB charger, and standard USB cable.

Only issue I had is when setting a password it doesn't like characters like "&", otherwise picture quality is quite good.
I mainly use BlueIris, but the PTZ controls are easier using the GenBolt app, just swipe and the camera moves.

    • They have changed the power from the normal 2.5mm barrel type to USB. My two from 6 months ago were the 2.5mm, the one from this deal is USB. Was a bit of a pain as I was replacing some older 640x480 2.5mm camera's which I had run custom cabling and so it wasn't plug'n'play because of the change to USB plug for power. But moving forward USB plug is probably better.

Yeah been using mine with BlueIris and IP Cam Viewer for 6 months and no issues. Also works with iSpy for those wanting to stay freeware. The only negatives I have found with these is that the ONVIF IRLED ON/OFF commands don't seem to work through IP Cam Viewer, and the bitrate modifications made in the config settings don't apply to the HTTP feed, only the RTSP feeds.

  • I've got today and im trying run it through my mango v2 with internet restrictions….still haven't got the rules/restrictions working yet tho :(

edit: seems like rebooting after my last edits have worked :) no backdoors(hopefully)

    • I have my cams in a IP-range with everything except NTP, all blocked by the router. I access them via BlueIris.
My password had an "&", thought I locked myself out, the "&" and everything, after was dropped almost, did a factory reset.
More controls via the WEB Gui than the App, you can set "profile positions for the PTZ", and I dropped the PTZ speed down from fast.
I didn't have to change, but it is interesting you can change the Onvif version\profile.

I don't seem to be able to get the frame-rate above 12fps, must have broken something with all my tinkering.

      • I'm thinking of trying it with motioneyeos… I've sadly found the IR light reflect to much on the window at night, might check out the IR settings on the web GUI… Having fun tho…
P.S The mangov2 is to be used for my eventual Opengab/hassbian setup with IOT devices(if I get off my a$$)

  • @OP
What the different between this and this one https://www.amazon.com.au/Wireless-WiFi-Security-Camera-Surv…

    They both FULL HD (1080P)?

    • Good spot, they now have two versions. I can't see the difference between the Lite and Enhanced from the specs. I have asked the question.
