Seems like years before that feature will become useful for most people
People tend to own AVRs for a long time so best to wait when new tech has arrived and will be mainstream probably 2020 next year
with bonus wine.
Is it a big saving. Any good?
This is a good deal for new. New model X-1600H is inbound with eARC, but personally I don't think it will be that much of a benefit.
Ugh, damn. Still waiting on a Denon AVR-X3500H deal to pop up.
They should get cheaper as the 3600 has been announced!
Yeah, that was my thoughts. Was hoping it would be discounted in this sale since they've cut the price on the X1500H which is also being replaced by the X1600H. Hopefully one should pop up soon though!
whats the major difference between the 1500 and 3500 making it worth more than double the price?

Better version of Audyssey is probably the biggest difference tbh. Also more power, inputs + outputs, eARC etc.
More inputs, more power, 4k upscaling on the 3500.
I've got the 1500, had it since January. Paid $650 at HN. It's been great for my needs. 4k passthrough works well - I run Apple TV4k and UHD player through it and get Dolby Vision and Atmos when available. It's plenty loud enough for my needs and drives a 7.1 system well. The Denon apps are decent and can make adjustments, do internet radio, etc through a mobile device. I certainly couldn't justify the price jump to the next model, wouldn't say I'm an expert on these things though.
sounds like this would be good enough for me as well, dont think in-ceiling speakers will handle more than this can put out.
I managed to get the x1500h down to $600. worth jumping on?
Mind if I ask, who did you manage this through?
I got this at Harvey Norman at Wiley park. Look for salesman named Jig. I actually am thinking of trying to return it for a refund now. It was an impulse purchase and haven’t opened it yet.
I'm holding out for the new features, but I think a 5.1.4 amp price is going to scare me as well.
FYI for anyone who doesn't want to support Gerry, Videopro has also matched prices on these receivers.
Love me an avr deal but waiting on HDMI 2.1 personally
