    Good game for that price…

    Great game

  • +1

One of the best games one played

  • +1

    Loved this game.

  • +5

Still pushing through it. It’s fun, but something is missing..

    • +10

      but something is missing..

Perhaps you don’t have the complete edition ?

      • +2

Maybe that’s it.. but if it is just more of the same, then no, that’s not it.

    • +1

Have you got the shield-weaver body armour yet? Hard to aquire but worth it.

      • +2

The game becomes tons easier once you get the armour, not much of a challenge after that. Until the Frozen Wilds DLC where they can counter it.

      • How do you get this? I am at level 20 right now.

        • +2

It will take a long time. The armor is only obtainable right before the final few missions.

    • +5

I agree. I'm playing through it now as well and while it's still tons better than Shadow of the Tomb Raider, there are a few issues.

      1) Weapon progression is so boring and I just couldn't get excited about buying new weapons when all that changes is more elemental damage types and more damage. They all look the same as well other than being different colours.

      2) Characters are very forgettable and ditto for dialogues. After awhile they were starting to bore me to death so I'm skipping most of it except for the main quest related dialogues.

      • This is what I found as well. Gorgeous world to explore though!

  • Why is this tagged as Freebie?

  • +1

I prefer Discs, is there a chance that Amazon will price match?

    • I bought it from Amazon when it was on sale. What's wrong with digital? You'll have to download updates anyway :P
Maybe Big W still has some left?

      • +3

Physical copy can be resold and isn't attached to just your account. Prefer the disc anyday.
As for stock, best price is $24 at Amazon, Big W and JB-Hi-Fi

        • -8

For a game may suck 100 hours, I would prefer digital any day. And resale value for an old game like this? Get a job.

          • @aec: I don’t see how a long game would make a digital copy better. It’s just having more rights over the game that makes physical copies appealing to me.

          • +2

@aec: Agree with you somewhat regarding the limited resale value part in this particular instance, but to be fair, FireRunner has a valid point.

Especially when it comes to single-player games, I'd rather have the disc version so that I at least have the choice of being able to sell it if I wanted to, or give to my friends to try out (I'm not a big collector-type, so after I finish a game like that it will basically never be touched again). I only buy digital if it's the type of game I know I will probably always be playing (eg. Mainly multiplayer games such as Rocket League or GT Sport).

I bought the CE for HZD about a year ago for $20, completed the game and got the platinum trophy. Ended up selling it on eBay for almost $40, so was definitely worth my while.

            • @Shekster: I believe aec is saying that for a long game it's better to have a digital copy because you will be going back to it quite a lot and saves you having to constantly switch the disc. I'm playing the Ezio Trilogy & the Spyro trilogy atm on my PS4 and changing discs between them is a bit tiresome sometimes

    • -1

Disk means you only get the base game as the DLC was only ever available as a download AFAIK.

      • +5

Nope, got the complete edition on disc for $17.
All content was on the disc.

        • +1

          I stand corrected.

      • +2

Surprisingly, all content is on disc.

The devs were nice enough to do that when they could have easily gone the way of putting a one-time use code.

        • -1

Well that's nice of them. Too bad I bought the base for $10 when I got my PS4. Downloaded the expansion recently though when it was on sale so it's all good anyway.

  • i have nothing against digital copies and envy their slashed prices like these. but i just love owning the physical disc of all my games. i'm still living in the past i guess.

regardless, people who never played HZD should definitely get this game. practically stealing at $18 for the complete edition

  • +1

Love the game but really wish this wasn't locked at 30 FPS. Still fantastic though

  • Have to admit this one was hard to go back to after playing Breath of the Wild. Looks stunning in HDR though

    • +1

Happened to me. Started this and then Switch came out with Breath of the Wild. Got hooked by BotW and never went back to finishing the game until few months ago and I regret not finishing the game earlier.

  • this, monster hunter world, or far cry 5? Only going to get one but all look interesting to me..

    • THIS

      • I got it, was a pretty stupid question really. especially with the others being $25

    • +1

Some friends and I bought Monster Hunter World a couple of months back when it was on sale. We gave it a go but none of us ever really got into it. I know a lot of people absolutely love it, so I guess it's one of those games that just scratch an itch for a certain kind of player, but my friends and I obviously weren't that kind of player.

I've got Far Cry 5 but haven't played it yet. I liked 2, 3 and 4 so I'll probably like 5, too. But I'm not expecting too radical a departure from the previous games - hell, FC4 was practically a remake of FC3 - but it'll probably be fun.

HZD is bloody fantastic. I found the story uninteresting enough to the point where I wasn't even paying attention anymore by the end, but the game itself is a lot of fun. Beautiful looking, interesting to explore, entertaining combat. Only problem is that like so many AAA games these days, especially the big open world ones, it just goes on too long. I really don't need any game to hang around longer than 40 hours.

      • great reply, thank you angusD. I did go with HZD

      • Far Cry 5 expands on Far Cry 4 co-op by letting you play all the story missions in co-op together too rather than just the outpost side missions. You also unlock the wingsuit very early in the game. The bad thing about it is that the storyline is split into separate regions of the map and you don't really have any control over when it progresses as when you 'destablize' a region enough the missions just begin, you'll just be messing around with your friend on the open world collecting treasure and clearing outposts then next thing you know you're both teleported into the next mission.

    • Depends on what kind of game you enjoy. For me I tried to get into "this" but after 20 hours it just felt like i couldn't get into it. world is beautiful but being capped at 30fps really killed it for me. story is bland- comparing to something of a similar genre ie BOTW it just doesn't hold up. I still play BOTW to this day. on the other hand me and my friends had an absolute blast with monster hunter world, easily 120 hours from me and about ~300 hours for a couple of friends i know. hunting with friends was really fun. again, its based on your preference

    • Monster Hunter World has the long-time value being an online focused game, lots of content updates happening on it and about to launch a new expansion pack. Also being a monster hunter game there is hundreds of worths worth of endless grinding so you will definitely get your moneys worth on that. Far Cry 5 / HZD are over when you finish them so the replay value isn't as good there.

  • Picked up a ps4 finally last week.
The only game I purchased was HZD. If I never play another ps4 game, it was worth buying the console.

    • It's my third favourite game on PS4. First being God of War and second being Spider-Man.

      • Last of us?

        • thats going to be the next game I get.. :)
I'm really REALLY trying to avoid buying a new game until I beat the old one.
Don't want another case of "I have 1000 games I have never played" (ie Steam)

          • +1

@zomgbargain: Oh man, if you haven't already played it, you need to.

Seriously - I've been playing video games for over 35 years and that one is my favourite one out of the whole lot of them. Obviously your mileage may vary depending on how much you like story-based action/adventure style games.

And get the Uncharted games while you're at it. You can get the Uncharted 1-3 trilogy for $24 at JB, and it's in the 2 for $40 range along with Uncharted 4, so that's all 4 of them for $10 each. Don't forget The Lost Legacy after you've done those 4 - it was also very good.

          • +2

@zomgbargain: Actually, if you have PS+ then the current Winter Sale on PSN has you covered.

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us Remastered for $15.45 each.

            • @AngusD: Thanks AngusD, I appreciate your tips. PS4 will be set for the next couple of hundred hours :).

        • +3

I liked the main story but didn’t enjoy the DLC chapter. Would also be in my top 5 with Shadow of the Colossus.

          • @FireRunner: Ooooh I always wanted to play Sotc but never got around to it.. Gosh I'm going to have an impressive backlog of ps4 games I wanna play…

            • @zomgbargain: Don't forget the Spyro & Crash remake trilogies ;)

  • -2

Wondering if it will get lower then $17.95

    • It has been $17 in the past

  • Awesome price ! I guess only downside is you can't sell the physical copy when you're done with the game

    • +2

I think 30+ hours was worth your $17.95

  • Jump to get extra slow motion.

  • -2

This game looks like every other triple A action game

    • +4

Yeah, just leaning on the same old giant robot dinosaur cliche.

  • This game use the 3D audio that the platinum headset does?
