I can't say for Series 5.
I'm using Series 7 (760CC if im not mistaken) for last 3+ yrs. Been travelling around the world with it. Built like a tank. The cartridge is a bit expensive (about $55 from Shavershop).
I wish it breaks so I can buy series 9, but that damn thing never broke.

I upgraded from a series5 that I had for 5 years prior to that. series7 gives a closer shave faster, thanks to the vibration module. it was very much worth the upgrade.
I have this model. It was an upgrade from an old Flex XP 2. It was a slight upgrade but not the difference I anticipated. If you're coming from another type of shaver/shaver it will depend on what your needs are. I suspect if you're an everyday shaver with average growth probably will survive. If you're an every second day shaver with average growth (like me) probably will wait for the next good deal. This imo is probably good between $100-$120. I think Braun (not the shaver shop) offers the product satisfaction guarantee on most of their shavers not sure about this one so you could always return.
Beware this model have battery problem, I have 2 that die within a years, Braun shaver customer service is non existence, shaver world will do 1 replacement after that good luck. I am happier with Panasonic brand, and I am now using xiaomi one, so far so good no complain.
They are full of crap. Cant get it they can't put the exact model number anywhere
