Yeah I thought 400gb
Corrected and added to title. Sunday is a good day for some clickbait.
Speed seems way too slow for m.2 capabilities
It's not NVME It's SATA M.2 hence the slower speeds.
Due to restrictions (rolls eyes) I am unable to post the following deal.
If anyone is reading this thread please post this as a separate deal if deemed necessary.
Samsung 970 EVO NVMe M.2 500GB $142.46 / 1TB $269.11 + Delivery ($0 with Prime) @ Amazon US via Amazon AU
Built with Samsung’s industry leading V-NAND technology for reliable and superior performance.
Sequential Read up to 3,400 MB/s / Sequential Write up to 2,300 MB/s [500GB]
Sequential Read up to 3,500 MB/s / Sequential Write up to 2,500 MB/s [1TB]
According to Amazon US the 500GB is 40% off and the 1TB is 43% off their regular price.
$5 more for Aus warranty. So not a good deal.
Is it too small and a waste of nvme slot?
This isn't even an NVME drive, it's just a SATA that uses an m.2 slot. So yes, it's a waste and you shouldn't get it.
Why did you remove SATA from the title? Put it in, that's important to know that this isn't NVME. It's wasting a slot.
Seems like a good option for a small external ssd drive for use with a raspberry pi. Buy an external usb to m2 case for it and set up the raspberry pi to write to it. I'm now contemplating if I should do that or not….
The Patriot NVME 128GB is $37.85 for those who want NVME.

How does that compare to this Gigabyte one:
https://www.pccasegear.com/products/46845/gigabyte-m-2-nvme-…
… Does that patriot one have onboard dram? Does it make a difference vs this 'DMA' feature the gigabyte one uses to use system ram instead?
Helps to let people know it is 120gb in the title.
