    Jetstar doesn't fly direct to Tokyo from Sydney.

      They're essentially charging you more to fly from Sydney to either Cairns or the Gold Coast.

      These prices are good but I got $322 last year from the Gold Coast to Tokyo return so I'll pass unless that comes up again :)

      They probably worked out if we can afford to live in one of the most expensive cities in the world then we deserve to pay more lol

    Just as a point of interest what price should I be aiming for for flights to Bali from Melb in May next year? Plenty of time to book obviously. ($370 seems ok but not amazing.)

    Add food, luggage and entertainment and it works out more expensive than a Qantas sale fare which goes direct from Sydney to Tokyo. Not a deal for everyone.

    The fares are cheap without luggage. However if you add luggage fees, it is the same price as other 4 star airlines.

    Can someone tell me if the seats for Jetstar are comfortable?

      Have flown Jetstar many times from Sydney to Tokyo and find the seats to be OK. The last couple of times I've gone with Qantas because the prices have been on par with Jetstar and you get food and luggage included, also flying direct is so much better than stopping at the gold coast or cairns.

          It is a good price for Tokyo for Qantas as you get food/better seats.

            @dongdong: Okay phew, yeah the main reason I with Qantas was 30kg inc luggage and I thought would be a better flight.

              @asaprocky: Oh most definitely much better deal! Jetstar's 20kg luggage extra fee is about $32 per way. the tix is cheap but the add ons are much more expensive.

    The Gold Coast to Tokyo prices are coming up as +$700ish when they are stated as ~$500ish? Is this a glitch or are those specific tickets sold out or what? I'm just trying to find cheap tickets from Brisbane or GC to Japan during the holiday period.
