                • @MuddyClear: It's illegitimate with regards to the contract. It's not illegal. Look up the definition of the word if you have to.

    • Windows works unactivated lmao…

      • Unactivated windows are denied access to certain critical security updates and therefore opens up your system to security threats. But I guess it 'works' for offline use!

        • I am pretty sure security updates still works. Just not content update.

people buy ryzen, not only because its competitive performance, but also its upgrade-ability(AM4 support)

with gpu massively overpriced, people expect value of these cards last longer

    check out this video

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=69jw9i4p4-Y

    3900x+a320

A320 motherboard cripples the cpu and limits it to base frequency

2070 super performance is close to 2080 and cheaper

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_l9FjSLf6sg

    might as well get navi

Basically don't buy a 2080 if you care about money. If you're going nvidia go 2070 super (as faraam said) or just navi when reference cards arrive. Also $500 for a 2700 is rediculous. You can get a 3800x for that.

I bought this deal (R5) and the B350 mb and it goes well. I picked up an EVO Plus M.2 500GB for $160 and paired the RAM (which was G-skill 8GB 2666 - not the 2400 in the system I bought) for $60 - rather than the upgrade options offered. The only problem I had was a weird ticking noise when it fired up, some bright spark had run the case light power cable across the case fan, so fixed that.

All in all I've now got something that goes very well for about $1600.

A thumbs up to celebrate poor care by your system builder doesn't encourage confidence that much has changed at TechFast?

  • Any chance to have that on eBay?

    • Not without a code. There are too many associated fees to make it viable.

  • Luke, I have the Ryzen 5 system which I bought since January 2019 and I purchased Windows 10 along with it.

If I need to format/reinstall my Windows, how should I start?

  • Luke - Can you do an upgrade option to the B450 motherboard?

  • I really need a gaming PC I just am scared to pull the trigger when Iā€™m never sure if a better deal is just around the corner … goddamn pain not being impulsive sometimes.

  • I am considering the Ryzen5 one but the limited upgrade for Ram sets me back. Is the 2400 ram that bad for this?

To get the best performance what upgrade I need?
    I was thinking of B350 motherboard, 240ssd and possibly 2400 16g ram?
+ I read comment about new deal coming soon
Could anyone please advise on this?
    Thanks

    • The better motherboard will let the hardware work more fully to it's potential and is cheap. Probably cheaper to buy the SSD from somewhere else. Considering the price of ram these days, and that it would really help with not only gaming, 16gb is pretty much the minimum people should be looking at for any longevity. You might want to check out some reviews comparing memory speed as well.

You will probably want to budget for a 2TB mechanical hard drive - which can of course be added at any later date.
