These are pretty junky. The handles on the Classic range love to come loose. Went through a few before I woke up realised it was just the average/poor quality that was causing it.

  • Any experts to share thoughts on this scanpan set vs Tefal Jamie Oliver Stainless Steel Mediterranean 5 Piece Set which was recently around $220 on qantas store

  • I have Scanpan Induction range, good quality

  • I’ve been using a classic range frypan and wok for over 10 years now (nearly daily). Both are still going strong.

  • Always heard great things about scanpan, it's a pity it's not induction.

Though I had heard good things about tefal too, and my experience with them has poor, absolute junk in fact.

Maybe these brands aren't what they used to be?

  • Remember that thick base pans are trying to compensate for poor thermal conduction by adding a large thermal mass to the bottom of the pan, better to go for layered pans with copper to evenly conduct heat if you can, like the fusion 5 series.

    • Anything that does this but is non-stick? The fusion 5 is stainless steel and I'd rather non stick.
