  • Is there even a need to get a Toaster, if you already have a Sandwich Press machine?

    • Apparently not, according to my parents.

    • depends on the size of your kitchen.

    • +4

      Yes according to the wife

Is there even need to get a kettle when you have a cup and a microwave, or a saucepan and water?

      • +1

Apparently not, according to my parents.

      • Is there even any need to get this when you already have two kettles and a toaster you never use? … I mean, these are shinier though…

  • Been using the $7 toaster and $7 kettle from Kmart 3 years and counting… But the chrome on this looks nice.

    • +3

It’s not chrome. It’s brushed stainless steel. Chrome is a shiny finish (and fingerprint magnet).

guess you completely missed the point.

Hmmm tempting. Has anyone in the community bought this package, or either item? Curious to know if they are OK, ie no design flaws. Nice cheap package if not

These are usually excellent. Had a few previous models of the kettle over the years, the first with this spring loaded lid could suffer from a condition where the lid latch failed after a lot of use, but likely fine in the new ones.

I have a previous toaster still after 10 years, can't kill it. The release switch arcs every time (you can see a blue flash inside) but it works 100%. A problem that it has is actually a design flaw, which I worry all the toasters made in countries that don't do toast so much as rice is that the openings at the very top have a lip that actually catches any toast that twists as it heats, making it hard to get out whenever a jam happens on the lip. (Pun added just to butter things up)

Perhaps look to see if the guides allow an unimpeded path up to be sure.

Worth looking though, Breville make some fine product many times, but parts are hard to find and extremely expensive. The wife's $600 blender has a massive plastic jug that seems to blow the bottom bearing and seal every year, it wears the rubber on its mounts as it gets noisier, rattlier and begins leaking- regardless of whether it is used or not. It is not really serviceable, so you are left to deal with an heavy, unrecyclable landfill jug that costs $200 to replace annually. All they had to do was make the bearing push in an out and use normal screws on the bottom.

  • Two for $39:D not bad

I paid 85 for this set not that long ago, very nice items.

  • There doesn't seem to be any stock in any Vic locations..

  • Been waiting for a bargain like this to come up, cheers OP.
