They say life is too short to print your precious memories on cheap photo paper, but let's face it, we've all printed photos for family friends on Krisp or Anko branded photo paper because it's cost-effective and the results are okish even if the colours seem to shift a little, blacks turn a bit muddy and the paper feels weak and flimsy.

But cheapen out no longer, at 50% off you can get your hands on 400 sheets of quality canon paper plus glossy II 6x4. This is a thick 265gsm paper stock (compared to say Anko's 180gsm) so the prints will feel solid and durable, and for those who haven't used Canon paper before the quality is significantly higher making this paper ideal for printing important photos that you want to look their very best. You'll be amazed at how well your inkjet printer can print with the right paper.

Same stock on eBay appears to sells for $31.01 + $6.95 delivery (prior to 20% discount) for 50 sheets?!? (Yes, tell them they're dreaming)

  • Now I just have to budget an extra $50 for printer ink…

It's hard to justify buying photo printing paper when Officeworks is 10c a print.

      400 * $0.10 = $40…..

No way you'd be able to print 400 photos for $9 worth of ink

Using a standard printer that uses cartridges, I totally agree, however with an ink tank or CISS enabled printer and it starts coming close to being more economical to print at home. I have an Ecotank and I think I worked out a colour a4 page at 5% coverage costs me less than 1 cent per page. With colour 6x4 photos you're probably looking at 4~5 cents per photo in ink.

Keep in mind the reasons to print at home is:

You have far more control over the printing process and quality control, can adjust colours, calibrate etc. If you have a high end photo printer it would give you superior results

Convenience - can print what you want when you want it, no need to drive to the store, wait, drive back to pick up prints, cost of time, petrol etc.

If I was needing to print 100 photos I'd get it printed at kmart/officeworks as well, but when doing 1-10 prints at a time, so much easier at home.

      • If all you're thinking about is cost then fair enough. However, if you're also interested in quality then, as good as officeworks are, they are the best of a bad bunch. I can get better on my $200 inkjet every time. Particularly with paper of this quality. Sure it's more expensive but for something that often goes on the wall it's worth it.

  • Very nice deal. Pity I don't need any.

  • Good deal, but I just stocked up on… Krisp photo paper :(

  • This has to be cheaper than bhphoto.
