I know the 5700XT is cheaper and performs similar to above, but non blower versions won't be out til around mid August I believe.

No need to rush into buying this, realistically this should be the price before the 20%. Retailer are ripping us off. The 5700 XT custom cooler is a better buy and $200 cheaper. If you can wait until mid-Aug

Agree, the MSRP for this card is only 515 USD which is about 735 AUD

      • Including their tax? The price translates REASONABLY well by previous standards. Though still I wouldn't buy this over the AMD card atm.

      • add 10% and its already 808.5 so this price is reasonable

        • The Harvey Norman tax is only forced by legislation onto ebay and Amazon and their sellers. So if you buy from another USA seller who doesn't collect the pretend tax, then it doesn't count.

          • @Major Mess: bh photo and newegg also collect it

            • @jabroni: B&H don't. Newegg claim they are. How do you verify that Newegg have been passing on what they collect, to the Australian Tax Office? No Australian government agency has access to their sales records or can enforce the Harvey Norman Tax, so why would they when they don't have to give the money away?

This relates only to the Harvey Norman Tax which is for goods under $1000 which Australian customs do not care about.

          • @Major Mess: Its not about that when comparing prices.

Often when people compare US vs AU prices they neglect to add 10% to the US price to make the comparison fair. As you most likely know, US prices don't include taxes, ours do.

          • @Major Mess: Oh TIL I thought it arbitrarily applied to all imported goods new or used. More reason to avoid eBay auctions.

Don't know why these bloated price cards keep getting linked

  • Pretty much same price as my GTX 1080 I bought in 2016. So 3 years for ~30% performance increase, 10% performance increase per year on average.

7nm Ampere can't come fast enough. Navi and Turing are boring.
