To celebrate Neighbourhood Watch Day on Saturday 13th July, Q Super Centre will be fitting and supplying free anti-vandal number plate screws. These screws eliminate the inconvenience and cost of replacement number plates if stolen. With every fitting we will also be giving away a Free Q car shade!
Available at the Bunnings Car Park between 9am and midday.
you can tighten with a normal screwdriver but cannot untighten.. the shape of the head makes it so a normal screwdriver can only drive it one way.
Also, affix your plates using plenty of 3M VHB. Thieves will tear your bumper off before they get your plate.
How do you undo the screws to return the plates when you dispose of the vehicle?

Pretty sure you can get the screws for free at local police stations in VIC?

Is people vandalising the screws on your number plate really that big a deal in QLD? Being free is that the government saying they have lost control of this issue? I guess queenslanders can at least be thankful their actual number plates are not getting vandalised.
I am glad I am in NSW where people just do the old fashioned vandalising rather than this specialist stuff.
It's not vandalising… it's theft.
Number plate theft happens everywhere, including your precious NSW. Nothing specialist about it at all.
If you are ever unlucky enough to you get your plates stolen, you'll very quickly see how much of a pain it is to get replacements.
Unless of course you like spending time at the RTA?
Get some screws and save yourself a lot of hassle. Trust me.
