Discount happening like a clock work given series 5 is around the corner
given series 5 is around the corner
I don't really see that happening this year, but hey I am not an expert!
It is?
yes
source?
Should have mentioned that it is free to link this to your Optus number. They give you a separate SIM which can be used in one of the cheap Optus Modems for 30GB wireless per month and will be added to your Optus data pool. If you are really really lucky and persistent you might catch the right person at Optus and u can also get a static IP attached to the mobile number - but you do have to be persistent and really lucky…
Hi, what is the purpose of the static ip for ?
I needed one for 4G backup in my business modem for when NBN goes down.
So you have 2 sim ? one e-sim and one physical ? does you e-sim link back to your iphone optus ?
@obiwanmy: Yes - the e-sim is linked to your phone and the second sim is for the data and is put on your account so goes into your data pool.
I'm confused. Are you saying that they give you two sims? One for thr watch and then another one for thr modem? I highly doubt that but if they do then it's an amazing deal. If not then in confused why you would do that with this watch because then the watch won't have a sim.
Im guessing they used the sim in a modem.
And that the data pools with you optus phone dataIt makes the LTE functionality pointless then. However, I might consider doing the same but selling the watch. You'll get $500 for the Samsung 46mm on ebay.
@C0mbat: I don’t think you can sell the watch as it is linked to your account with the e-sim and would need Optus to ‘release’ it which would break the contract.
Dose Optus offer discount when port in?
Looks like iPad Pros are also included in this deal
If you already have a plan with heaps of data, is it cheaper if you buy this the watch from big W ebay ($647.10 for 40mm), plus $5 a month for the number share (free for the first 12 month)?
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Apple-Watch-Series-4-GPS-Cellula…
Yes, of course if you don't want the extra SIM or data, it is cheaper to buy outright. But when they want $25 for the extra SIM and only 5GB of data, an extra $8 p/mth for 25GB + a watch was a no brainer.
It's showing $719 plus postage for me.
Can the data be used from WBB?
I want to get an Apple watch series 4 for my mum, for the 'fall detection' feature, are the smaller watch faces generally for women?
I've never seen one of these up close, so I have no idea if the larger watch would be suitable on a smaller wrist.
go to the store or get her 40mm
Thanks. I was leaning towards the 40 mm. But simce it's meant as a present and a surprise, I won't get a very good idea what it will look like on her if I go in store. Thanks tho.
40mm is best size for a female wrist in most cases.
Get the 40mm especially since you just want fall detection. I have the 40mm and a big wrist.
Tkanks a lot guys, I appreciate it.
It seems like you'd already need to have a phone number and plan with Optus to use the cellular eSim in the watch? This SIM they give you seems to be a data only SIM.
Looks like it's a data only plan? I can't see any calls included in the plan, but data is included.
