I just price matched one of the mini colours at Officeworks yesterday for 5% off. Just FYI A19 and A60 are identical sizing (imperial vs metric measurements), different stores seem to pick one vs the other, which could be confusing. If you get any issue price matching just point out the SKU# is identical. I wish the four pack was on sale though.

(To make it clear, A60 means 60mm wide, A19 means 19 units of 1/8 inch wide … yay imperial).

  • Iā€™d like the LIFX mini to come in more then 800Lumens

  • Link's dead?

What's the benefit to a well known branded bulb like LIFX or Hue compared to Kogan or Mirabella ones which are half the price? Particularly if only used with Alexa?

    • The brightness is usually better in an equivalent size, and the amount of colour (ie, brightness when set to a pure colour). But it may not be 2x, obviously.

Lifx have incredibly good support IMO. I had a kickstarter edition bulb that failed and I contacted them for a replacement - they shipped it out but it got lost in the Auspost machine so they sent another. A week after that I got the original one so I contacted them to let them know and they said not to worry, keep it as a free gift. Not bad, given I once ordered three metres of cable from Dick Smith and they sent me three reels instead (300 metres) then a day later called me to say they wanted it back.

      • I had one ( of a pair) fail after about 100 hrs use . Burning short circuit kinda smell. Did not have much luck replacing it and am now hesitent to use Lifx again given the high cost.

Given your story I will try once more to get a better outcome and contact Lifx…

      • Two year warranty only! They turned down my request for a replacement as after this time. Globe hadn't been used much.

        It was the A21, meh

Think I'll try out the Philips Hue

    • In the case of the mini ones, they may fit in enclosures that don't fit the cheapies.

  • Any idea which one can be used in the backyard?

All of them can but you need to have a decent housing so they don't get wet, just like normal lights. You'd probably want the brighter ones for outside and it's unlikely you'll need the ones that can change colour. Unless you're running a certain business type from home…

  • Unfortunately they were quite a bit cheaper last month

  • Thanks OP. Needed to grab another Lifx mini - for some reason the B22 is $27.10 on Amazon but the e27 is still $34 šŸ˜•, so just got Officeworks to pricebeat for $25.75.

On a side note the Officeworks fellow was saying Bunnings and Officeworks are both owned by Wesfarmers so it was kinda funny they had to pricematch them šŸ¤·šŸ½ā€ā™‚ļø
