For people asking unlock questions, Optus website mentions:

Have you recharged your service to a minimum / accumulated amount of $80.00?

Yes: There is no fee to network unlock your handset
No: How long has your service been active?
Less than 6 months: There is an $80 fee
More than 6 months: There is a $25 fee

I assume that it only applies to the SIM that comes with the phone/pack. What if you are already on one of the yearly Optus prepaid plans? Is it a free unlock?

3gb of RAM and MiscoSD support for those wondering.

Also a massive 4230 mAh battery and a ~90% screen-to-body ratio. The screen is 720p but still a very respectable 271ppi.

  • Looks like it is also available at Big W

Yes, it was the same price there last week. Ended up buying it unlocked for a family member from the 10% off Mobileciti deal for $223.20 delivered last week.

This deal includes a VF $40 starter pack.

wonder if this work with Mediatek Engineering App for a free band unlocking. Cheap price.

    • That whirlpool forum is a worrying read!
Decided am not interested in the limitations of this phone after reading it😱

      • Different model. That an opportunity a73 thread but because the processor is from mediatek. The MTK engineer apk hack could work.

        • Thanks - meant to check model

Personally, I think you get better value from a xiaomi or umidigi, but, that WP thread was pretty enlightening. It's interesting that you can just switch the bands on and off.

No problem using this with a SIM from TPG or Amaysim right?

  • +1

    NFC = No. That's a shame.

How many models at that price have it?

  • ColorOS at any price is a bad deal.

  • Videos and reviews show dual SIM and separate microSD card tray. Considering this is an Optus prepaid phone, is it still dual SIM and are both slots locked?
