    • Don't they look into it to see if it's legitimate or a price error etc?

      • i don't think they can given the price has changed. they have to use your SC

      • Maybe, maybe not. I just did two claims via 28 Degrees. All I provided was website printout along with my receipt.

  • +1

Crying i wasn't fast enough on this one

  • I bought one from HN last month during the JB offer for $2.3k but haven't picked it up yet. You think I have a case for them to lower the price to this?

    • +1

      No

    • @2300 is a good price too. Was it on specials last month as well?

  • I purchased at 7.40 as delivery. Hasn't been declined yet…

  • I just got an email from Harvey Norman saying my order has been delayed

    • It is back up on the Harvey Norman website $2978 but appears to be out of store stock Australia wide.

    • Same. It's on backorder.

    • What time did you get your order in yesterday?

  • I think HN will cancel the orders..backorder..where are they going to get stock? B8 is old model now.

    • There must be stock out there at other stores or lg's warehouse. Otherwise, why would they renew the listing at 2978 letting people Backorder?

      • Could it be that it has been listed back at $2978 on the site, even though there is no stock, to stop customers that purchased in the week before this price error trying to claim a Harvey Norman Price Guarantee on $1978, which is up to 7 days after purchase. Who knows?

The B9 is due to be released anytime now.

    • Agree. Hope they'd refund soon then I can buy the Hisense TV.

      • Why would you hope they refund? This TV is better than any hisense TV.

        • I will miss out on the Hisense TV deal if they refund after a week. I definitely want this TV but I doubt it will work in our favour. :-(

          • @m k d: Use a CC and buy the hisense, then refund the hisense if this order goes through. That way you don't miss out on the hisense TV deal. Just clarify the terms for refund with the store you're purchasing from

            • @djevoultion: That sounds like a lot of hassle and I don't want to end up with 2 TVs. And I doubt anyone would take opened TVs back for a full refund.

Or I could do a side by side comparison review video if that ever happens!

              • @m k d: off-topic, is there a deal on hisense 65PX? cheapest right now is $2495

              • @m k d: Simply don't open the hisense TV until you know what's happening with your oled order.

                • @djevoultion: Thanks for the suggestion! Guess I could do that.
Is it fair to think if Harvey Norman wanted to cancel our orders they'd have done that already? Can't expect them to sit on it for a few days and then come back with a cancelled take your money back message.

                  • @m k d: Did you pay the freight? I'm assuming they are weighing up the exposure/loss or attempting to deal with LG for a one-off discount mass bulk deal. LG have the B9 incoming and might be finding all available stock of the B8 to put a nail in its coffin. They are keeping orders for some reason.

                    • @Dupree805: Hope you're right. I am picking up from a store.

                      • @m k d: Have they provided you with backorder lead time? I keep getting the run around

                        • @Dupree805: No ETA. On the day I ordered the store called and advised they have no idea when stock will come from LG. Won't be good for them to come back after 2 weeks with a no stock apology.

                          • @m k d: I've checked opposition and most have limited stock.

  • Bought the TV $1987, at least that's the price in was in my cart at checkout on Monday the 1st. Then was charged $2987.

Complained multiple times via online chat, email, phone and got the same answer, that the listed price error would not be honoured.

Going to complain to Fair Trading NSW but there's probably no point.

    • Did they charge you $1987 initially and then charged you the difference?

      • -1

No. It was 1987 in the shopping cart then 2987 charged to my debit card. I have screen shots of everything, but even with these I'm told there's no way of getting it at $1987. It's ridiculous.

        • I can kind of reason with them saying they can't sell at that price if it was an error, regardless of the cart thing.

But… there are serious issues with being charged a different amount than you "confirmed" during checkout. That is theft and you need to make sure they are EXTREMELY apologetic

          • @isthisreallife22: They have apologised plenty, but who does that help? I'll see what Fair Trading NSW has to say.

            • @Jono454: Are they refusing to cancel the order and refund?

              • @m k d: Haven't gotten to that point yet, want to see what FT say before I ask for a refund.

                • @Jono454: What!! Surely you want your $1000 that they took from you without consent back?

            • @Jono454: Just note fair trading will only advise and can't make HN honour pricing. I had a similar dealing with them and they will agree there is shady proceedings but they can't force them to do anything. You'll get your money back, but you'll need small claims court to make them honour the price and HN know this. It will cost $$$$$. They just have the bigger stick sadly

        • What price did the confirmation email have?

    • UPDATE: HN have issued refund. Hopefully another deal comes along soon

  • Just but the Hisense 65PX … if you shop around you can get it for around $1999 and this has a 3 year warranty as well !!

  • Wondering if anyone has any updates? I don't have any updates from HN which makes me think I should just cancel this order and buy a Hisense R7 65inch tv for ~$1500 from the latest ebay deal.

  • Interestingly, can't backorder at all anymore

    • Checked again - no one knows if there is any stock coming. :-(

      • Yeah I get the same. Maybe they hope we cancel instead

        • -1

Well hopefully enough of you do cancel, so that when they get some stock …..

In the meantime, I guess HN has figured out how to profit from OzBargain.

      • +3

I contacted LG directly and they have stock available but limited edition only. Don't hold out for the B9, apparently not coming to the Aus market.

        • What do you mean by limited edition? Didn't know there was such a version

          • @djevoultion: Unsure. Their words. Probably meant limited stock. I did ask for clarification.

          • -1

@djevoultion: Probably misheard and they said "limited stock". There's no limited edition.

            • -1

@Abbi: Meh. It was a typed response. Next…

              • -1

                @Dupree805: Yeah, sure sure.

                • -1

@Abbi: The B8 is a limited edition TV line up. Clarified this morning (mod: edited)

                  • -1

@Dupree805: "Limited Edition" LG oleds do. not. exist.

                    • -1

@Abbi: Yep. Good for you. Yes they do.

                      • -1

@Dupree805: Please provide a link to this fabled "Limited Edition" for us all to see. You can't because they do. not. exist.

                        • -1

@Abbi: Call them it's free and the truth will set you free as well. I won't make this easy for you

                          • @Dupree805: And yes they do

                            • @Dupree805: For the record everyone, this person is not telling the truth, LG do not have a “Limited Edition” oled. I do not know what this persons motivation is for purposely misleading others but it’s certainly against the spirit of ozbargain. Again there is NO limited edition, he misheard the rep.

                              • @Abbi: This person has no basis or knowledge. ignore, ignore, ignore, ignorance. A simple phone call would resolve this. Yes the OLEDB8STB is limited edition. Case closed.

                                • @Dupree805: Please provide a link to this "Limited Edition". Why are you doing this?? Is there something wrong with you? You're providing false information to Oz-bargainers.

                                  • @Abbi: Why are you here? Did you even buy a Tv. You clearly know little.go away and leave us alone

                                    • @Dupree805: Please produce evidence of this "Limited Edition". You can't because it doesn't exist. Stop trolling Oz-bargainers.

                                      • @Abbi: Stop trolling me. EVERYBODY beware this user has no basis or knowledge to contribute and TROLLS users attempting to assist. Unsure of their motives but useless contributions are an understatement. BEWARE!!! Stop wasting everybody's time and let us who are engaged with purchase continue. Goodbye.

                                        • @Dupree805: Please produce evidence of this "Limited Edition".

                                          • @Abbi: 1300 54 2273 do it yourself

                                            • @Dupree805: You don't troll and demand.

                                            • @Dupree805: Please produce evidence of this "Limited Edition". You have it in writing after all. Apparently you didn't "mis-hear" it.

                                              • @Abbi: Yawn. Ring them. You're boring now. Last reply to you. Yes it is limited edition. IGNORE this users opinion, apparently their own thoughts make them correct LOL. This person won't ring because their afraid of admitting their knowledge is incorrect. I suspect this person would ring, find out it's limited edition and still state THEIR opinion was right. It's a limited edition TV line-up. Goodnight. "Microphone crashes to the floor". SAY GOODBYE TO TROLLS….

                                                • @Dupree805: Please produce evidence of this "Limited Edition". You have it in writing after all.

You won't have any evidence because there is no "Limited Edition" LG Oled.

                                  • @Abbi: Ring them yourself. Why would I help you? Others I would, but not you.

                                • @Dupree805: This person won't call. You all know they won't. Easy to remain in oblivion.

        • Good on you for checking. Does this mean our orders will get fulfilled?

          • @m k d: Unsure. I just asked if they had stock and explained that the local store said they didn't. They just confirmed stock and gave me a laundry list of distributors. Might even contact fair trading concerning HN not provide time frame on backorder when supplier has stock.

            • +1

@Dupree805: I just checked again and was told no idea when stock is coming. They will follow up and advise in 24-48 hours.

  • +6

Spoke to a store who advised this is a pricing error and Harvey Norman sold a lot of these TVs. The good thing is they are working with LG to get stock and fulfil all the orders however it will take time. +1 to Harvey Norman.

    • Awesome news. It is the best tv for its price

    • Did they mention how long it could take? A few weeks or a few months?

      • No one knows - the head office is working on it. I am happy to wait until end of next week. I appreciate them honouring the price but then it has been 9-10 days already since the payment so we deserve to know what's going on. $2000 is not a small amount.

Why don't you all call your stores to get an update on your order?

        • Check with them again. They revised with LG today.

          • @Dupree805: Do you mean the stock issue is with LG?

            • @m k d: LG expects to ship 22nd July according to HN. Unsure of overall QTY or who will receive the stock first. I'm assuming end of month order fulfilment. Who are you calling? Local store??

              • @Dupree805: Yes I call the local store I am expecting to pick up from. Do you call the head office?

                • @m k d: Yeah. The store would only be using data on their ERP system. Get them to reply through email. I did call but do both. Plus this will help you collect evidence if you wish to complain through Debt Fair Trading.

                • @m k d: Go through the central website, use your order ref as well. Be civil and just say you note backorder and would like an ETA.

                  • @Dupree805: I see. Assume you refer to the HN website. Placed an enquiry using contact us. Let's see.

        • Just note there is a large flaw in the sales of good act, it's very subjective. Light read lol. "Whenever, in this Act, reference is made to a reasonable time, the question what is a reasonable time is a question of fact."

If you believe that you have waited a reasonable time and the trader has not responded satisfactorily, you may lodge a formal complaint. Under Australia Consumer Law there is no definition for reasonable time.

HN aren't in breach technically, but the more people who ring will assist with answers.

          • @Dupree805: Interesting, didn't know something like this existed!

            • -1

@m k d: HN won't want X amount of complaints, they still have a reputation to uphold. I'm sure it's their procurement team holding back the info.

              • @Dupree805: Got an email from HN today: Sorry, your order has been delayed. It shouldn't take too long. We'll contact you as soon as it's ready.

                • @BaronX: Email through the website. Not great service. This will assist with lodging a complaint if required. A reasonable reply in my opinion should be 5 working days, and that's being generous. We are all almost 10 days with no clear indication of when goods arrive.

  • +1

I'm happy to wait. The last back ordered item I purchased from Harvey Norman took 2 months to arrive.. So I don't have high hopes that orders will be fulfilled before the end of this month. What seems at least to be clear is that Harvey Norman are working on fulfilling orders. If they were making no money and had intended to cancel orders, I think they would have done so by now.

    • They are replying now via email with end of month to most of us. They include in their responses that the 1987 was a mistake and should of been 2987. They also include they will honour the pricing as well. Send them an email through the website, 48 hours response time. HN seem to have more info now.

    • +1

I got a call yesterday and picked it up today- looks like Harvey’s have started receiving stock. This was in Sydney, North Ryde.

      • That's great! How's the B8?

        • Haven’t had much time with it yet, but seems like a beautiful TV. Worth having two people to put it together as it’s hard to safely pick it up, and easiest to read the instructions first…

          • @Millikano: Unfortunately after using the TV for about 2 hours, a green vertical line has appeared, one pixel wide, right near the middle of the screen. Will have to return or send it back, though we’ve already disposed of the box.

Has anyone else had this problem? Pretty disappointed, but I guess that happens sometimes.

            • @Millikano: That sucks. Did you contact the store? I assume this was a brand new TV.

            • @Millikano: Yeah happened with me on my last TV. Contact the store, they should replace it
