Missed out on this deal posted last night and found the same torch slightly cheaper albeit from AliExpress. Would've preferred buying from Amazon but that'll teach me to think before buying.

  • can one trust this?

    • Some photos from an OzB member here

    • Are you asking if one can trust ThorFire or Elfeland?

      • Ali - isn't half of the stuff counterfeit?

        • There are plenty of good sellers on ali. I have heard favourable reviews for Elfeland in the past, but nothing either way in recent times. At one point in time it was rumoured that the Elfeland store was related to BangGood or someone that was dropshipping from them.

    • can one trust this?

Reviews seem okay, I took a chance and ordered one this afternoon.

      • I always worry about the diode not being perfectly centred in the reflector when I can't see before buying. I've a feeling I'm not alone…

        • I'm considered anal retentive in my house and have never thought to check LED position on any of my torches…must resist.

  • +1

    Elfeland is Banggood on Ali.

I have the original edition of this light. You can change the value of the current sense resistors to get more power. My does around 9amps. Stock my driver was doing close to 6amps @ 6v. The MCPCB is a custom size on these so if you want to upgrade the LED you have to find a 28mm board (i can't remember if its 28mm or bigger) but 28mm is the bigger common size or reflow the LED onto the original board.

For $10 USD extra you can get the SP70 which is a fully modded version of this light. The SP70 is capable of putting out 8000 lumens and has almost 1km of throw.

    • Damn you!!! Just looked up the SP70 and now I need one of those too. The light looks great but the UI tipped me over the edge.

    • Could you post a link to the SP70 on elfeland / Banggood / AliExpress please? Having difficulty finding it. Thanks!
