    Says: Corsair Vengeance LPX 8GB (2x4GB) DDR4 3200 C16 1.35V - Red Veng…
    $120.06
When I add it to cart. I'm a bit tired but am I getting 2x4gb or 2x8gb?

    • In the capacity section, it was set to 16GB (2 x 8GB) for the $120.06. That the figure i expect to receive unless u pick a different size.

This is a good deal but have to wait and see wat the new ryzen will want..

  • -1

Many people waiting to get the new Ryzen thinking it will be cheaper but forgetting other bits and pieces, such as the faster RAM and motherboard to take advantage of the new architecture will make it expensive to the point of similar money as building using Intel. So the price advantage disappears.

I think you are potentially missing the performance advantage in addition for AMD. Paying the same for higher performance.

But we shall see when the reviews come out

With the new tech AMD is pushing out and the performance/Price is actually on par if not outpacing intels current generation of chips. there have been tests done with the new ryzen as advised by AMD themselves in their keynotes that testing with 3rd gen ryzen was done against intel chips without intel's software mitigation for the most recent hardware vulnerabilities, and intel chips are still beaten. Price advantage will still be their if even slightly, but you would be getting a much better machine is my point.

Yeah I get it that AMD is going to be quicker, however when you are talking about games, are you going to be able to tell the difference if hypothetically speaking Intel can only do 150fps V AMD 180fps, it's a moot point, furthermore to take advantage of the faster speed you need to spend on a much faster RAM with AMD, usually min of 3200 but 4000 is more like it which is horrendously expensive, Intel doesn't get affected with slower RAM and will work just as well with the cheap 2166. So at the end of the day the price benefit of AMD CPU is negated by having to pay a premium for the RAM. If productivity is your concern, we already know AMD has already outpaced Intel with their 2nd gen lineup. Another thing that we don't hear much but I'm sure a lot is happening behind the scene is that people have bought RAM that ends up being incompatible with their AMD system then having to sell them at a loss which is another expense. A good example with that someone has already questioned the speed of the RAM with B350 board down below.

FYI I'm not against AMD, only disagree when people start talking about the price advantage.

      • Just so you know 3000mhz is fine for Ryzen its not "Min 3200mhz" and the price difference between 2166 and 3000 is so little that it wouldn't really make much of a dent at all. I'm talking 10-15 Dollars.. if that. Also keep in mind that usually you need to buy a cooler for intel but Ryzen comes with a stock cooler that should be fine unless you're overclocking.

  • Keep in-mind that Corsair don’t provide international warranty directly, so Ram would need to go back to reseller should the need for replacement arise.

G.skill, crucial and most others do.

Interesting. I did an RMA for Corsair ram and dealt with them directly no worries at all

      • Last time I tried mid last year, they insisted the kit be sent back to the reseller (PCCG) for RMA.

  • I have a set of 8gig Corsair LPX (CMK16GX4M2D3200C16) .. can you marry the two sets together?

    • tested latency on the D revision is 16-19-19-36

  • Will these work at the rated speed on TechFast systems with B350M board upgrade?

  • ram so cheap now

Seems rather dodgy in the checkout saying 2x4gb.

Someone asked in the Q&A and seller says it's 2x4gb, be careful.
