  bit of advice, the "carbon fibre" rod sliders have resistance in the middle where there's the brace for tripod mounting, due to extra flex at 1/4 and 3/4 along the way (where there is no brace), stated in many reviews of similar designs.

  I'd recommend ones like this, which are metal the entire way, with no points of failure due to flexing. They're the same price too, it's just what I went with after watching many reviews.
