Postage of $15.00 can limit the sparking of joy for the cheaper items…

      Okay.

    • +5

$15 P&H turns this deal into a Marie Kondon't for me.

      • Can't neg this deal because I previously upped and revoked, but holy price jacks, Batman!

    • -1

      Is this a haiku thread?

  • +11

store wide with exclusions? so it's not store wide…

    • -8

      cry more.

Those exclusions are pretty fair… why would they offer eofy sale on items they don't even stock

      • +1

seriously? no stock mean no selling happening, exclued from sale or not has no different. we are not crying, we are laughing!

  • +3

This deals never shine as bright after the 20% and free postage eBay deals but good for locals.

    • They removed themselves from the 20% eBay deal. The prices are still cheaper on eBay store if you have eBay plus.

what happened to computer alliance not price jacking
LG 34WK500-P was $399 yesterday, now its $499

I was ready to buy one with 15% off $399

    • +9

I tested your price jack theory and it looks to be true. I chose a random product and checked on wayback machine: https://web.archive.org/web/20190415194135/https://www.compu…

They upped the price by $10 on this item alone.

      • +6

        They've done a Kogan

      • +2

To be fair, that was a special two months ago - nothing wrong with changing it. I'm not saying they aren't jacking, but that product isn't the greatest example.

      • +2

Your link is from April, hardly a comparison as tech pricing can move around a lot. $69 has been live since 13 May according to their eBay store.

        • I just tried a few random items and it looks like Wayback captured most pages on the same date so a bit hard to be more specific.
But any product you test with Wayback Machine you'll see more pricejacking just like this: https://web.archive.org/web/20190410233934/https://www.compu…

Feel free to try any random product through the tool.

      • The relevant price in the context of price jacking is the price 7 days ago. ACL specifies this.

    • And they said they loved me … The Phantom is devo …

  • Screen I want is still $100 more expensive than sydneytec on ebay. 25% off would be a good eofy sale.

    • Program Buff: 4kg down and still going. You are my inspiration.

      • That's fantastic to see. If we were all healthy imagine our health system!

price jacked QNAP NAS, cheaper to use ebay because postage kills it.

    Delivery to postcode 6000: $28
    (for single item)

  • +3

yes, price jacked. I will ignore it.

    • Ignorance is a bliss!

  • +4

Lots of price jacking going on, pretty poor.

  • +1

Computer Alliance, pricing isn't the right thing to jack with you hands.

  • Would love to place an order for some business stuff. But can't use credit card to pay online then have the local tech pickup? Pretty useless.

  • +4

Thanks for the price jack audits!

  • +2

Didn't expect CP jack price. Don't understand the purpose of 15% discount.

  • +7

These guys ought to be reported to the ACCC for price jacking. They'll take them to court for this. They did it for Kogan.

    • Yes they're easily small enough for the ACCC to pretend its doing something by fining a small business violating the law.

Instead of large business that pay off the Government to violate the law like eBay.

  • +5

    LOL there are no discounts

    PCCC 9700K $599

    Comp Alliance 9700K $689

i've got ebay plus so might as well wait, even a 10% deal will do

    Jacked. Good bye.

  • +1

No bargains from what I can see.

I was looking at a high end CPU On their site yesterday, its been price jacked to account for the 15% off. Off my future store list, forever.

    Hi Guys

This promotion is targeted at our customers in the Brisbane region and is doing quite well so far. It will be advertised further in our usual Courier Mail add tomorrow.

We are aware that freight and current pricing may not make this deal viable for everyone — thats what the recent 20% off eBay sale was all about for people outside Brisbane, and so far this deal is doing its job for our in store sales.

As for price setting policies — its a fact that we have moved very few prices in either way over the last few weeks, much less than usual, largely because we have been busy processing orders. For those that have changed recently, I can tell you for every increase, I could point to at least 2 or 3 decreases.

It is not true that we adjust prices up before sales and then lower them after, and thats been demonstrated over years and any check of our prices over the last few weeks or months will show no significant change compared to our current pricing over 1000s of products. You might want to see comments and checks from previous and similar site wide deals.

It is also true that our average margin is a little higher than it was say 6 months, or a year ago. Thats a strategic decision and is also why we have been able to do some 20% off eBay promotions of late, rather than the 15% off we had run when margins were a little lower. We still have some of the best prices every available on IT gear in many cases, especially during sales.

Take a look at my comments from this eBay sale in May which addresses most of these issues in detail: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/455422

You might also want to look over similar comments over past sales where poeple have accusing us of "jacking" and its been easy to check those accusations were not, and have never been true.

We are not planning any more near term eBay sales, but i am looking at options for Ozbargin exclusive coupons on particular products, and products ranges

    …Adam

Can you buy in store and get the 15% discount?

      • +1

Yes you can get the discount in store - either order online to pickup (using the coupon) or ask when in store.

        • +1

Thanks, I’ll drop in today and pick up a few things :)

    • -1

I could point to at least 2 or 3 decreases

Go on, show us. From what I have gathered, most of the decreases have been applied to low priced, unpopular items whereas the increases have been applied to higher end, popular ones.

Price jack pricks, finally people come around to this.. @CA if u cant afford the discount dont fkn decieve.

    • -3

You seem to have untreated anger management issues.
