Got one price matched at my local OW, thanks OP.

Funnily enough when the staff member saw the OZB link he said "this is not reliable" 🤣

  • Price matched at OW Woolloongabba without any issues for $19 :)

  • Also price matched @Taren point OW, local Kmart showed nil stock on website..

Youngish sales guy was a little hesitant but put it thru anyway for $19..

Just waiting for ebay code now…

Any1 care 2 comment on how long the code takes?

    • +1

      24hrs

      • Just got my code, took less than 6hrs, yay…

  • Anyone know anything about accessing the SD card on these units? There's nothing in the manual and nothing I can find online so far..

    • +1

Looks like the SD card is only accessible via USB.

  • Just got back from OW West Ryde, unfortunately they said they didnt want to price match cause the one in kmart is different than the one that they have

    • its the same, i would've asked for a manager..

    • Lots of the place cards left at blacktown kmart if you're willing to drive

  • NO STOCK at Chatswood Chase :(

anyone got suggestions how to still get this?

    • Try Hornsby Officeworks. I just got mine and price matched too. I saw they had two left behind the cashier.

      • Yeah no problem, ended up going to North Sydney and got one :)

  • bought this cant get over 2mbits its just terrible when my phone is doing 200mbits

    imo not fit for purpose.

    • 200mb/s from your data internet??

Did anyone get two sets of usb cables? Is a guy in China playing a joke to confuse someone?

    • My box had 2 also…

    • Yes, I thought one is for charging and the other one is for connecting to the computer lol

    • Two cables for one device this is a sin.

    • and here I was thinking I was special :(

    • I have so many chargers and cables I wish they didn't include any. That will be easily less $5. Wasteful world this is. Many powertools manufacturers do this by selling you 'skin' unit no battery no chargers.

  • Can someone assist with the Kogan APN settings for this, now that I've unlocked it?

Ive put in the following details, but cannot get internet for some reason:
    Name: VF WEB
    Dial Number: *99#
    APN: live.vodafone.com

    What am I doing wrong?

    Thanks

    • how did you put it in?

  • Does anyone know how to unlock it once I got the NCK code?

    • +2

Put in a non Optus networked sim and boot up, then log into the device via its webpage(//192.168.1.1), once you log in, it should ask you to enter an unlock code before it will let you access the settings

      • Thanks for your help! ;)

    • +1

By default, when you connect it to your mobile via the 4g Modem Wi-Fi signal, click on the browser and you'll be taken directly to the settings page. Password is admin and hit enter. NCK code prompt message will display maximum 10 attempts.

  • Free Facebook unlock code from the first page works a treat :D

  • i know its a long shot but.. is it possible to receive calls/text messages via the 4g modem somehow?

    • SMS yes via the web interface. No voice, it doesnt have a speaker or mic or headphone jack.

  • Can you turn the wifi off on this box? (not just stop broadcasting SSID, but actually completely off) I just want to tether via USB.

    • USB for power only unless you learn how to write new firmware for it.

      • ?

How does that answer his question?

        • Indirectly. USB on this device is not programmed for tether, usb is only for power.

          • @skillet: But it does support usb tether?

            • @CVonC: You are right in the manual it states "connect your device to the client via the USB cable". I just tried it, a USB drive appeared after drivers installed it works as a USB 4G modem.

And yes there is option for you to turn off wifi in the settings menu.

  • Kmart Cairns Central had a shelf price of $49 but scanned at $20. Thanks OP.

    • Facebook unlock code worked a treat.

Initially tried an Amaysim sim in the modem, worked fine when connecting my computer to the internet and also my Telstra TV 2, but wouldn't connect a Telstra TV 1. Could connect TTV1 to the modem but not modem to the internet. Any ideas?

  • Does anyone know if this can be used as modem for a desktop PC (without wifi)? As in, when connected via USB, is there a way to connect the PC to internet through it?

    • Yes it works as a USB 4G modem.

      • Hi can you roughly let me know how to set it up that way? thanks

  • does this have an Ethernet port?

    • No
