    Best Before: 30/07/2020…. Coffee should not have a best before date, and if it does it shouldn't be a years time….

    What's the roast date on these beans ?

    • I wouldn't touch beans max 4 weeks after the roast date. And even then they'd be getting gross.

    • Yes that is a general rule for coffee beans and I normally only buy freshly roasted beans.

      But, I find these Illy beans are the exception that proves the rule and they are very good and proper Italian tasting beans.
      Whatever they do with their vacuum sealed cans seems to work.
      I find these fill the gaps when I run out of the fresh beans and can't get to my favourite supplier in good time.
      Because they are sealed they make a good standby supply. You can't do that with any other beans.
