I can’t never get pegs that last. They always seem to break after a bit of sun damage 😔

    • Yes.

Try these crocodile pegs at Bunnings. They won't snap that's for sure. A bit more pricey, but I've had my first lot for 2.5yrs. I usually get 6-12mths from the other pegs

      • How about that - a FULL one year warranty.

Stainless steel pegs are pricey but will last (until run over by the lawn mower I guess).

    • +3

They are designed to do that, otherwise they won't get repeat sales.

Don't leave them on the line, get a peg basket and bring them back in with your dry laundry. They will last years if you do that.

      • I got plastic pegs that never get direct sunlight, used on a line on a balcony, get put back into a bucket. They still get UV damage and break.

we've got wooden ones that have lasted the better part of a decade.
true, they're not strong enough to hold up thicker/heavier jackets unless you use a bunch of them. but for shirts/pants/jocks&socks they do the job.

like these ones from bunnings - $3 for 100

And the spring apart easily :(

Were much better before manufacturing moved overseas (CN)

Yep the old ones I have that are made in Aust say Reva Genuine on them and the colour of the pegs haven’t changed. I purchased the ones from the last deal and they say Reva Australia on them and the colour faded already. The plastic has deteriorated slightly and have a slightly rough touch now. The Aust ones are still in better shape and basically still new. Putting them side by side the comparison is day and night.

Not to mention the sharp residual edges left over from the molding process. The Australian made ones lasted and felt so much better.

  • +3

From comments last time this was posted, not made in Aus any more and don't last like they use to unfortunately.

    • +2

Oh, bugger… The Aussie ones were great!

"Packaged in Australia using pegs manufactured in Australia and China."

Not really sure what that means. Maybe effectively 30% equivalent to "Made in Australia"?

    • +2

One in a million is made in Australia.

      • +1

Leftovers from final Australian made batch.

    • Not the bags I saw, not anymore.
They also have newer style packaging, frosted bags, new design, and all made in china, not even packaged here anymore either.

      • The statement I quoted was from a photo of the product packaging on the Woolworths website - could very well be a file photo from years ago and not updated.

  • I bought some about 8 months ago after my last lot of Reva lasted for years.
Probably about 40% are broken. The rest are faded.
    The old grey mare…

thanks OP now we need to ozbargain 46 more nipples

Not part of the deal but the Reva Super Hold seem to last longer and don't go brittle.

  • Are the Big w ones the same?
All made in the same factory?

  • Search on ebay for Stainless Steel Clothes Pegs. I got the 6 x 2.5 x 1cm size and they are great.
They are a lot more expensive at around 30 cents each but should last a lot longer.

  • +2

Great, more plastic quickly destined for landfill.

  • -3

They are 3 bucks. If they break…buy some more. People in here talking about the Australian ones "felt so much better". Do you sleep with them?

    • +1

I think that's exactly what they want you to do - buy some more.

    • +1

      If they break…buy some more

the essence of throw-away society. All good as long as it doesn’t end up in your backyard, stomach or lungs.

be careful with these. the last ones i bought were too small to use as a leg

  • Bought UV resistant orange pegs 10 years ago on ebay. Still using them today, they are indestructible!
