Only my 3rd post so please go easy.
Been holding out for this soundbar to price drop and it finally has. Lowest price found online. Could probably price match at TGG and JB.
Enjoy!

108b is much better than this.
I was also looking at the YAS108 but I have a Hisense TV and have read that there were issues getting the ARC to work, and having to use optical. This happened with my Pioneer soundbar and a different Hisense TV too. I haven't found anything on Sony soundbars with Hisense TVs so fingers crossed ARC works.
I would trust Yamaha for sound over Sony any day, but the price point won me over.
Aside from the Yamaha being $56 more expensive ($205 from TGG eBay with code), the only differences I can find are:
Other than that they seem to be the same (120W, and similar size and shape).
Hope that helps.
yeah thats me, YAS108 with LG tv. issue with ARC so just use optical. and logitech remote to combine the remote controls.
if you have sony tv then of course get this sony
Don't get why it's not just a universal language amongst all products like most things are these days!
thanks for the reply mate!
So I received the soundbar today. ARC worked straight away with no issues.
Only problem is, the soundbar is crap. No bass what so ever and no way to turn it up. It has preset settings with different modes and none made the bass better.
My Hisense TV speakers are better than the soundbar.
Very very disappointed. Not sure how it had such good reviews. Will be returning tomorrow, luckily I have prime.
I cant get my Yamaha 108 to play sound with tv with arc so looks like I have to take it off the wall again and install the optical cable can I leave hdmi cable in to arc to 108 or should I remove as will have optical cable instead, was pain in ass to get tv on wall first place now need to do again cause my cheap tv from target does not want to do it's job.
Even though I used optical for sound, I left my HDMI connected as needed it to see the soundbar settings on the TV.
@Jewdas90: What do you mean?
@bwatt72: My soundbar had settings that you couldn't see via any display on the soundbar itself, so needed the HDMI to see what I was doing. Just like a menu button on a TV that has more in depth settings.
Will the 12% shopback apply to this?
Electronics is 4.5%
I wondered if this was better than the one half price at bigw with wireless soundbar.
Not sure which one you're referring to but I didn't want a separate sub as trying to have the least amount of cables possible. My other soundbar with built in sub had awesome bass so had no need for a separate sub. Hoping this is the same.
This one.
Never had any experience with sound bars, how many cables do you need? I assume HDMI + power, so 2?
Yep, that's it!
By arc pass through I assume people mean it turns on when the tv does and you can use tv remote to control soundbar volume?
I use optical from my LG c9 to an old Phillips sound bar but was looking to upgrade mainly due to remote issues.
Yes. Arc dues just that.
The only thing with my Sony soundbar, is it reverts back to HDMI1, instead of TV input, whenever I turn it and the TV on.
Have to change it using the phone Sony app, or original remote.
Haven't found how to do it with the TV remote
Can anyone comment whether this is better or the yamaha yas108b?
