Nulon Red Long Life Coolant Concentrate 5L for $26.99 (50% off) @ Repco

120

This is a Type A coolant used by most modern cars. This is a concentrate, so makes 10 litres. You can get 5l of demineralised water from woolies for $3.50 to use a a mixer, or use tap water if your tap water isn't too hard. But the extra $3.50 is probably worth it.

    • ?? That's the exact same link. Perhaps some difference in price in different areas?

      • yeah not sure maybe just difrent for area im seeing it as 25

  • just curious, is that easy to change coolant? I am able to change oil myself, but for coolant, I don't know.

    • Depends on the car, but it's usually pretty straight-forward. It's usually a matter of just opening a tap at the bottom of the radiator and draining it out, and disconnecting the overflow to drain that separately. The just reattach the overflow and the tap, and refill. Start it up, run for a minute, then refill again.

      • Yeah, I just watched on youtube how to replace coolant for toyota 2007. It is kind of easy, the tap is on the opposite side of the oil tank, just above the cover. I just need to pull out the cover to touch the tap. :) Thanks.

  • Does it really last 6 years?

    • The picture is actually old - they advertise 8 years on the bottle now. And it could potentially last that long, but you should change the coolant based on the car's recommendations - not the bottle - which will typically be shorter. The interval is high to cover all cars including the ones with very long service intervals.

      • So they just added 2 years…hahaha

    • Mate, they used to use water, so 6 or 8 years wouldn't be surprised.

      Brake fluid, now thats different.

  • Price match with supercheap?

  • Thoughts on this coolant vs the Valvoline Zerex red premix for $24? Disregarding the fact that this is a concentrate. Just asking about the quality in general.

  • This is an OAT coolant for a good price. As long as you change the coolant every 3 years it will be ok. No way it will last 6

The best coolant is HOAT and even then it's recommended to change every 5 year's

  • Thanks, green concentrate is also -50% just picked one up on the way home. Bargain!

    • Just remember Green and Red don't mix and if your car has red/green read specification before replacing with the other/vice versa. More so with european cars and Prius

      • Yeah, good point, I'm green already 😑

  • The gold one is also half price. I think this one is better than Red, is this correct?

  • Does anyone know if Supercheap Auto sometime has at least 50% off coolant in the past or maximum 30% off?
