How do I do this? it just takes me to the Qantas page.

  • what a great time to be alive and fly.

  • Definitely targeted, so keep your eyes open. You need to use the link sent to you. In my case it was a little better if with shorter validity (perhaps because I've done a fair bit of travel recently) "between 28 May 2019 and 12 June 2019 for travel by 25 August 2019".

  • What a time for this to be posted.

Been trying to claim missing Qantas points from my flight on Qatar Airways today and they've told me that even though my boarding pass has the QFF number printed on it, due to privacy, they don't get flight information from partner airlines so can't know if I actually flew on that flight.

They asked me to send the boarding pass and e-ticket itinerary and when I did, they responded by saying Qatar isn't a partner airline.

How do others who fly on Qantas partner airlines get their points credited? Does everyone have to submit a missing points claim since they say they don't have access partner airline flight details?

I've done it in the past for Malaysia Airlines and Qatar (a while ago) and I just put in the requested info in the page and a few weeks/months later the points appeared on my account. https://www.qantas.com/fflyer/dyn/yourAccount/yourPoints/cla…

      • Yeah that's where I initially submitted my missing points claim and received a response a few weeks later

Your claim for missing Qantas Points from 11-Mar-2019 has been processed but was unsuccessful.

When I followed it up they responded with

Partner airline information is confidential to Qantas, so we will need copies of your ticketing information and boarding passes before we can process your claim for missing points.

That's when I emailed them and they requested the boarding pass and e-ticket itinerary and today they replied with

We have received the documents you've submiited. However, we're unable to credit your account with Qantas Points on this occasion as the transaction wasn't with an affiliated partner airline.

I booked directly through the Qatar Airways site. I'll keep trying, thanks ChronoSphinx.

In theory it should appear as long as you included your Qantas ff details when you made the booking (And it sounds like you did). They say to allow 6 weeks or so for the points to appear. I flew Qatar about 4 weeks ago - have set a reminder in my calendar to check with Qantas in a few weeks if nothing appears.

FYI Qatar is a partner airline via the oneworld alliance (https://www.qantas.com/au/en/frequent-flyer/earning-points/f…) so you should earn both ff and status points.

      • Well, rejected. Seems our tickets were class T and W, and not eligible according to https://www.qantas.com/fflyer/dyn/flying/airline-earning#qan…

        (T and W are "Economy Promo" https://www.qatarairways.com/en/Privilege-Club/earn-qmiles/q…)

        • Yeah I had to do some digging in to mine since the Qantas FF person wasn't very helpful with their response saying Qatar wasn't a partner.

Turns out my ticket was class W too.
I don't even remember being able to select a promo price when booking directly through the Qatar site.

          • @unco: I don't remember anything about ticket class either, and it seems harsh to get nothing - yes they were discounted, but not by much. It would be nicer if they simply gave a reduced amount of points based on the fare. Well, live and learn.
