can't believe this 2 year old phone is still selling for around 800, for additional $80, you can get a new galaxy s10

    • Or an oneplus for even less.

      • +1

Maybe he doesn’t want a phone with a mediocre camera, no IP rating, no local support, no warranty, and is replaced with a new model 6 months after release? Or are you talking about the newly release OnePlus 7, which is all of the above and costs how much?

  • For the same price, rather get a 3a XL.

    • -4

you meant the plastic Google phone with the midrange SoC and bezels from 2014?

      • +3

I think they mean the Google phone that was just released with the highly efficient Snapdragon processor which results in excellent battery life and snappy performance, incredible camera, Samsung OLED panel, 3.5mm headphone jack, and fastest available software updates, with major OS updates guaranteed for a minimum of three years. I think that’s the one they mean?

        • -4

It's a plastic phone, with no wide angle lens, no zoom lens, midrange soc, midrange specs, average screen, average battery life, absolutely worst design, no innovation, nothing.

It's overpriced. Will flop, like it's older brothers did.

Only people who appreciate 'clean android' and 'updates' will buy it.

          • @nikoris:

            midrange specs

            Hence the price, genius.

            It's overpriced.

Compared to what? You keep recommending the OnePlus 7 to everyone at Whirlpool. $1200+ with no warranty, average camera, average battery life, no IP rating, no headphone jack and it will be replaced in 6 months.

            • -1

              @aja12: It's way overpriced.
Oneplus 7 costs way less than 1200, and don't forget oneplus 6t with even cheaper price. Still a much better phone than the 3a xl.

Even s7 from 3 years ago has faster soc compared to 3w xwl.

              Also:
2014 called and asked for its bezels back.

              • @nikoris: I agree with you, the OnePlus 7 is way overpriced at $1200+. Plus the fact that OnePlus continues to ignore the local market shows what the brand thinks of Australian consumers, forcing buyers to buy through Chinese resellers with no warranty or product support. Even the OnePlus 6T is overpriced given it’s not even the current model, has a mediocre camera, no IP rating, no wireless charging, no 3.5mm jack, no QHD display.

@aja12: The ignorance on your post is hurting me.

If onrus is overpriced, then I don't know what vfm is.

Oneplus has GREAT CAMERAS, has great ram, fast storage, nice software, fast updates, amazing battery life, minimum bezels, nice design.

                  Pixels have…. bezels.

                  • @nikoris: Your ignorant and delusional comments have accumulated over 20 down votes in this post, that says it all.

If onrus is overpriced, then I don't know what vfm is.

                    …ok then…

after google announcement not working with huawei they put their own phone on sale. nice move

  • +1

-Hey Google, your vintage mobile phone is over-priced.
-Gotcha, I will ban my competitors, like Huawei.

    • +3

You do realise Google hasn’t done what they’ve done by choice?

        • +6

What? The US government did. They've also blocked Nvidia, AMD, Intel Microsoft, Qualcomm etc. from working with Huawei.

Why would Google want this? It just helps Samsung maintain it's dominance, and Google definitely doesn't want Samsung getting too big in the Android sphere.

        • Noone forced them to ban huawei from their own Google services

Oh great, you’re here as well as Whirlpool? Looking at your post count, it seems your contribution to Ozbargain is as valuable as it is on the Whirlpool forums.

Correct, “noone” forced Google to do anything. But the US Government did.

          • +1

@aja12: yeah sorry, i dont have your level of contribution

      • "Don't be evil"???

  • I just bought a Huawei P30 last weekend… its unopened I dont know whether to get rid of it or just go with it. I have a holiday planned in the USA later this year & hoping my T-Mobile Sim will work ok in it… decisions decisions.. Do I re-sell it & get a Samsung S10 …

    • +2

The ban is only applying to future models, no?

      • Yes I think so, but I'm getting different answer everytime I search about it.

        • Dont be a victim of the trade war and dont encourage this.
          Keep and enjoy your P30

      • Applies to all phones, including current ones. There was a temporary stay of the ban until August however..if that helps!

  • Bought the 3xl about 3 months ago for $950 on eBay (discount codes etc)..can't believe 2xl is selling for $800!!!!

    • -2

I cant believe the 3xl sells for 950!! Should have been way less!

      • Cool story bro..

      • Great use of apostrophes, they really emphasises your point.

        • +1

You don't even know what an apostrophe is.
Google it and come back to me bro

          • @nikoris: Sorry, exclamation points. Reading your posts is making me dumber.

Why would I Google it? You’ve spent all week telling everyone how evil Google is?

  • -1

    Wish its dual SIM

  • +1

Good effort for posting OP, but the last few times the 2XL has been posted on Ozbargain it’s been around $650 (Australian stock).

    • Thanks @aja12. I bought my P2XL 6 months ago for this price and in my opinion the best phone I have ever had. Previously used HTC Desire, windows phone, galaxy nexus, nexus one, iPhone 6s plus, 7 and 8 plus, Pixel 2XL on release then Pixel 2 then back to P2XL. Screen is great, takes amazing photos and battery life. I would still pay this price today because it is simply amazing. Of course I would expect that at this point in time , some bargaining would be possible

  • Second hand going for like $400ish

  • This is no deal nowadays

  • When buying Google phones you have to be aware that they stop supporting them after 3 years.

If you get a pixel 2 now you're only going to have 18 months of security updates before it's obsolete.

    Get a 3a
