  • Didn't realise they'd released this for AU market. Saw it a while back and wanted one but was only 110V.
Guess I'll have to wait for my BOV845 to die first… Hopefully price has come down by then too.

    • Some review says the outside get too hot. Does it happy to your BOV845?

      • It gets quite warm, but then again it's an oven so what do they expect…

I don't go making a point of touching it when it's on but I'd say it's normal temp for the outside of a thinly walled toaster oven.

My only complaint is the front element has developed a hot spot towards the right, so everything at that spot gets toastier then the rest. Not ideal considering it's supposed to be a "smart oven that heats where you need it".

  • have the regular version of this, such and awesome oven! One of my best purchases.

Australia gets one with 10 functions while the American version has 13 functions, the only difference from the previous model is the air fry function.

Like a quite a few Ozbargers I have been eagerly awaiting a possible Australian release of The Smart Oven Air. I was on the Breville website earlier this year and there was a coming soon page for it. It appears to have been release in the past the couple weeks and is slowly making its way on to retail shelves.

Unfortunately, as with a lot of things Australia gets an inferior version of something America gets.

The Australian the Smart Oven™ Air Fryer has only 10 preset functions vs the 13 on the American the Smart Oven® Air. Most notably for me the American model can dehydrate while the Australian model can not. The Australian model has a model number BOV860 while the American is BOV900.

The BOV845 number is used in both markets and that model is identical in both markets.

Having waited for this model for so long for this to coming you, very disappointing that it is not as good as I had hoped.

    • A little bit ironic, considering that breville is an AUSTRALIAN brand and yet America got more. Suppose that's how markets and business works.
