the peak of Ozbargain is getting this free QP then getting the free B&J ice cream tub as dessert and driving to maccas/woolies using the cheap 7-11 fuel on a high-yield investment car + using the cheap boost/amaysim/kogan/catch plans data to access the maccas app to get the code for the QP

    • +6

+1 for the high investment car

    • +14

Data isn't needed as long as you're connected to Maccas Wi-Fry ;)

      • +1

So it says limited to 250,000 burgers. Does this mean with the 970 McDonald's stores currently open in our country it will be 257.7319587628855 burgers per store available for free?

        Hungrybonegaming, nxllson please assist!

    • +14

Feck the car, get one of those eBike things so you don't have to pay rego.

      • +2

        Or a push bike.

      • +7

        Or an Xiaomi Scooter

        • But remember you will get fined yada yada.

      • +1

grab a Scoot with a free ride coupon.

    • +2

As far as my memory goes, the 'bargained upvoted' car should the Tesla

    • +1

What's the high yield investment car?

      • +2

There are 2 things that Ozbargainers are known for mate:

        1) Buying discounted iTunes cards to pay tax debt

        2) buying high-yield investment cars

        • +2

Lol. Uni student with $80k in savings to buy a car… Becoming "Westpac Investment Analyst" so wants to impress.
That was their last post. Too successful to be seen again on OzBargain?
350 neg votes for 1 of user's comments… What a way to go!

      Free B+J tub?? What'd I miss????

    • +3

      "Limited to 250,000 burgers"

That's pretty generous but I don't think that I could eat any more than 50!

      • +1

Does it mean I can get free hamburger today?

  • +10

Finally an actual freebie, not a "hack".

    • +14

Finally a deal that people can't hack 🙄

      • Order can still be hacked .. can remove the beef patty and deduct $2.2 off your order ahaha

or remove the cheese, patty, lettuce, bun and save 2200KJ

        • +1

That won't happen. Especially for free burgers.

          • +2

@nxllson: You underestimate the power and will of OzBargain! If there is a will, there IS a way ;)

        • Haha

      • +1

Except for those with multiple devices/accounts who will be eating free food for a week.

    • I think its either freebie with quotation marks or hack without it.

  • I wonder why Hungry Jack's never doles out free burgers (except their Birthday Whopper).

    • +1

      cause they're Hungry for profits

    • +8

Probably because they have those vouchers which aren't too bad… although the prices have inflated in the past few years.

      • +4

Yes, agree. And the Shake N Win gives Free Medium Chips, Free Medium Coffee of choice, Free Large Soft Drink, Free Frozen Drink or Free Soft Serve Cone. But they never "giveaway" a Free Burger. Although, I know there is a "Free Whopper" selection in their in-store counters. Wonder how to get it though. They removed the Two X-tra Long Chicken Burgers deal for $6.25. Was my favorite :-(

        • +1

You used to be able to get a Free Whopper for picking every correct tip in a given week of AFL on footytips.com.au. I reckon that promo ended maybe three years ago now but there's every chance the button still exists on their POS system

        • that chicken was the worst…. hate to think how much real chicken breast/thigh meat is actually in there.

im bummed the grilled chicken is never part of the vouchers.

          • @chriskq: I grew up on those burgers lol, that plus 50c ice creams, refillable sodas + the in store arcade. Could have been higher quality in early 2000's and was also in New Zealand.

    • They used to give away a tonne of stuff through the app. I remember in year 12 when the Red Royalty app started up, we would all of us go into Red Rooster and get a five buck meal on recess each, then the birthday meal (pretty well every day for about three weeks straight until they caught on, different people every day) for lunch, and then stagger up to HJs if the app gave us something good, used to get quite a few free Bacon Deluxe burgers in the day, was great.

Also gained about 20 kilos over a year or so there which probably isn't that healthy but what can you do?

        That's a lot of food

I have no idea what you could have done differently to not gain 20kg.

Suck on the fries and spit them out when done?

          • +4

@Clear: I enjoy the sucking, not the spitting.

            Spitters are quitters.

      • probably isn't that healthy but what can you do?

You were helpless in that situation!

They would rather exploit trainee programs for dirt cheap labour instead.

  • Delicious!

  • The best burger of them all.

  • +2

I am starting a diet on the 1st of June, so this will be a great pre-reward for all the effort and non-burger-eating I will be doing!

    • +1

Who plans a diet for 2 weeks later lol

    • +1

So a last binge before the intervention …

    • +4

I advise you to start now instead. Then on the 1st of June you'll be two weeks in already.

28.05 is shaping up to be a fatality for heart or a taste-ality if you will:
    * Free QP from macca's
    * BOGOF burgers at colonel
Best of both worlds for like $6, or $3 if you just split the kfc deal with a mate.

Falls on a Tuesday this year, that's great!

I refuse to go to mc Donald’s except for the Big Mac grand.

Eerrm I’m not an associate and it’s marked me as such and can’t remove it.

    • +6

LIES! u would have had to have gone there to stumble upon the grand in the first place.

    • +2

Hit the report button on your own comment and the mods will take care of it for you :)

    • Association with McDonald's has been removed.

    • Good job refusing to go!

  • +4

Imagine if one day they had a day for hamburgers where you could get a free Quarter Pounder or Big Mac or McChicken or Filet O Fish or Cheeseburger or let's say, maybe, a Hamburger. I don't know what they'd call such a day of hamburger worship, but it sounds pretty neat.

  • Reminder set…..

  • +3

Make multiple accounts and have your dinner sorted for a week

  • Sweet.

  • I will download the app and claim my burger!!!!!

  • +1

    Healthy too.

  • -6

We all know this doesn't require any app because it will fail massively.

    • and says no one ever ….. (not) … massive fail !

    • -3

I observed from far, many folks arguing with the store front line because their app don't work and manager said 'nothing, I can do about it; we need the code'

what can we deduct from this scenario? there's two things:

      • the manager blatantly lied because they can always overwrite the QP to zero dollar.
      • the app failed miserably come the d-day, which is today.
  • Useless McDonalds app.
I can never sign up with it.
    Errors every time.
Android or iPhone its all the same
    So frustrating.
Plenty more people with same complaints when you look at the app reviews.

    • +9

      Is that poetry?

      • +1

Can you please reword that into a Haiku?

    • +1

AH, I see IVI's posting style seems to have rubbed off on ya……

  • +1

If only the app would work

  • How do you find out about these things in advance? I can't see it in my Maccas app yet

    • +10

My association with McDonald's should explain.

      • Wonderful! Thanks for the heads up :)

  • -2

How many can you get on one account?

  • Is it in all restaurants Nation-Wide or just participating stores. Sorry if i missed it in the comments or the post.

    • All restaurants. Will show up under 'My Rewards' section.

      • Not for me - app says it isn't available at my selected restaurant (Ballarat Bakery Hill) when I try and add it to my order in the app.

  • Quarter Pounder with cheese ?

  • is this only avaialble after 1030 am ?

    • According to the 7News article 5am onward.

      • 5am and only 250k burgres spread across all stores?
google says theres about 970 stores across Aus.
        About 250+ burger per store?

        • No. Redemption limit of 250k across all stores, this number is not equally spread out. It's counted through the app not store orders.

  • +2

mcdonalds is doing their part to make australia fat again!

    • Australia is already fat. Most Australian adults are overweight sadly.
