Spotted this at Target, Broadway today. As per the title it’s the Nintendo 3DS NFC reader writer on clearance for $10. They had a few left and may be available at other stores.

I personally didn’t buy it as I already own one and truth be told I never opened or used it since I lost interest in Amiibo and Smash Bros on my 3DS, but others may have a use for this.

  Would be interesting to write your own tags and slap them around the CBD for fun. Number them and you have your own treasure map!

      I know you can but it's a bit harder to analysis a Nintendo 3DS :)

    Old 3DS and old 2DS models dont have built in NFC readers.
    This thing is a separate NFC reader that'll beam the NFC information on Amiibos to one of those models via IR.
    I dont know how game compatibility is with it but it works with the big nintendo games at least
