  • oh man can't wait for dinner tonight

  • Does George St, Sydney still do Hot n Spicy ?

    • .,…

      • when was this last time? it was open last week I went there unless they went for another renovation.

        • I just googled it and it looks like it may be open.

They must have closed for a long time :|

          • @random12: they did; so back to the question, does anyone know if ….

Does George St, Sydney still do Hot n Spicy ?

            • +1

@tempura: Mmm, I just checked the app for KFC George street a d it says specifically that 9 for $9.95 is unavailable :/

            • +1

@tempura: Yes, they do. I checked on the KFC App. Says you can swap original for hot and spicy.

              • @Thomas C: Yeah, but no 9 for 9.95 lol

                • @random12: Yesterday I saw the deal for $9.95 on the app. I checked other locations and there doing $9.95.

                  • @Thomas C: Both George street and Haymarket are not doing it.

If you search for the store, a pop up comes up saying '9 for 9.95 unavailable'.

              • @Thomas C: no, they don't. whilst KFC Myer food court has 9 for 9.95 on their special page today (as of 11:19 am), KFC George St doesn't have this. They cheaping out and need to be called out.

                • +1

@tempura: I just came back from picking up my $9.95 pieces (Hot & Spicy)from KFC George Street. All you have to do is ask.The Staff there were friendly, they told me there is an error with the system but you can buy from a the counter. There KFC has changed a lot serve they have a self service machine like McDonald's the KFC machine is like the app so I think you can use it without the app not really sure though., I went to look in the machine but no $9.95.

                  • @Thomas C: very kind of you, sarahlee; so no need for app and just order via counter and 9 for 9.95 hot n spicy .. brilliant .. appreciate your hard work, champ !

            • @tempura: Store reopened about a month ago.

Can confirm they do hot and spicy and yes they are delicious!

              • @first in line: can you also confirm the store does 9 for 9.95 deal as sarahlee mentioned above?

                • @tempura: Don’t see why not. Will confirm tonight

                • +1

@tempura: Proof of Purchase. Even though my receipt says tenders, it is not. Don't judge me I bought 3, 9 Pieces for $9.95. If you calculate 3*9.95=$29.85 and no it's not for me it's for the family.

                  • @Thomas C: yes, i've convinced myself to walk and you were right. apology if I doubted you <i have trust issue>. just a quick note to those who want to buy in KFC George St, you can now order this via their machine … yes, they now have machines and just swap from the default original to 9 HnS and yes, unfortunately you have to click 9 times if you want all to be swapped to HnS. once again thank you @sarahlee.

                  • @Thomas C: Why didn't you do 3 seperate orders and get 3 lots of free drinks and chips on the survey code.

          • @random12: all stores get closed for 12 weeks when they get renovated.

It looks like there's no hot & spicy for the rest of the nation. I just got original recipe 9 pieces of $9.95 here in VIC.

Quite disappointed as all I really wanted was hot and spicy chicken.

    • +1

that's why: right or left… West is the best lol

  • Is 9/9.95 for today only?

    • The app says "Tuesdays". It's likely its a repeating offer, though I'm not 100% sure.

      • I think I read somewhere that it's this week app exclusive then for 3 weeks will be available both in-store and thru the app. Not sure tho

  • I don't see this offer in my App. I am in Melbourne.

    • +2

      It's under Colonel's table menu.

    • +1

Not available in all stores, try different stores if you can't see it under colonel's table

      • What store can you not see it on?

  • Does the app have the 2 sides for $5.95 deal? I was able to see the 9 pieces for $9.95 but I can't see the sides deal available anywhere (or I'm just blind).

    • +1

Down the bottom of colonel's table tab.

      • Thanks. Not sure if restarting the app refreshed the options or I was just blind all along but I've found it in the colonel's table as you said.

  • Oh shiet, it's on M'goodbois.

  • prayformojo.gif

  • It should really be renamed Hot and Crunchy

    • Yep.. sadly most fast food will never be truly spicey.

      • +1

Pretty sure the asian countries do it right. Bangkok MCdonald ran spicy FRIED CHICKEN last year and it was terrific. Never expected maccas to win KFC when i bite on it. haha

    • In some countries, it is called Hot and Crispy. Of course, for the same reasons as you think so.

  • Is this valid only one day today? 04/06? Or will be there next tuesday as well - open for all?

    • no body knows what KFC are thinking; OP wouldn't even know as he might not be that high up in the leadership chain.

      • It is on for the next few weeks, I believe its 4 weeks including today.

        • +1

Then why did it say 1 day only and on app only?

          • @tempura: Because next week is in store also. I'm not on the marketing team fyi.

  • +1

The KFC I had today was the worst I've ever had :( Very soggy and oily with no flavour or crunch or spiciness or spices :( Absolutely appalling

    • well, if it's original style, it's meant to be eaten like that.

      • it was "hot and spicy" tho but tasted absolute crap

        • definitely not from KFC George St … there's never any hot n spicy like KFC George St .. never ever … unless you go overseas then you'll find them everywhere, but not in Sydney Australia.

    • Ask for a fresh cooked batch.

  • +1

Just got it at Haymarket. Didn't show up on the phone app but was on the instore Ordering machine.

  • How do I order this on the app? I got the message when I first opened the app, but then I cannot seem to find it when I try to order.

    Any help would be appreciated

    • +2

you click order now, select which store you want and then choose 9 for 9 from the New products menu or the Colones table menu.

  • Thanks for the tip. Couldn't find it in the App but plan on going to Haymarket so good to know I can still order it there.

  • +1

Haymarket allows you to order from the self service device.

  • My local had it available when I checked in the morning and… it's gone now that I'm about to order it for dinner ☹️

    • Are you talking about H&S? Because the 9 for 9.95 deal would have worked if you selected 9 pieces of original, im confused. The deal is on for the next month of so also, incase you still want to get it.

      • Sorry I should've been clearer: Yes, the H&S option was available in the app when I checked in the morning, but gone by 5 PM. And when we explicitly asked the store if we can swap some Original Recipe with H&S, they simply said "we don't serve it anymore."

        • That's odd, be sure to fill out the survey if you ended up ordering anything, only real way to get them to do anything about it. Plus you get some chips and a drink out of it.

  • +1

Was getting the bucket and 6 wicked wings and realised it was the same as a build your own bucket 9 piece plus 3 wicked wings x 2 any day of the week

    Edit: Actually you save 95c

    • Tuesday special plus 6 wicked wings $7.45 is $17.40

      9 pieces H+S $11.95
      3 wings x2. $6.30 (3.15 each)
      $18.25 total.

      • You seem to have higher prices than my local

6 wicked wings in my place is $6.95
        So total $16.90

And in the bucket at 2.95 each so $5.90 for 2
        $17.85 total

95c saving for me but 85c saving for you

  • Ordered the 9/9.95 through the the app, with the drink and chips on survey code, the reciept machine didn't work, so nothing for the next survey…
But they sent me a reciept, with the value 15.85
The chips and drink on the survey code were charged at 5.95 for the two sides.

  • Quite sure the 9 for $9.95 is not going to happen tomorrow.

In the past, they used to have the first week on the app, and then a few weeks available instore and app. However, this has changed for the last few in app promotions.

    • As far as I know it is.

      • Definitely on tomorrow. My local store has the banners advertising the special.

      • Is the $2 sliders offer expired?

    • Yeh just got the email. Its on

  • Our local store in WA has a banner advertising the 9 piece!

  • Fat anyone?

  • KFC should just make this permanent in Sydney.

Another KFC Tuesday, now just need to make rice for tonight.

  • Fck me having roast duck for lunch and going for this for dinner. Constipation here we come.

    • Yummy! Did you also add some roast/bbq pork on the side?

      • You bet! just finished a whole bucket of KFC <shared with 6 people> + few burgers and fries, coleslaw :)

  • Not on today in ACT.

  • mmmmm dinner sorted

  • Is the 9 pc for $9.95 app-exclusive or may be ordered directly at the counter too?

    • +1

You can order at the counter now!

According to my local KFC, if you want the chips/drink, you need to pay for your meal at the counter and not through the app.

      • Thanks. Yes, I've been always using that. Even if you order using the app, choose to "Pay at Restaurant" and handover your survey receipt/code to get Free Chips and Drink.

I particularly like KFC as they give Medium Free Chips (as opposed to Small by Hungry Jack's / Maccas)

  • +1

on another note the KFC app is TRASH ….

  • Damn, I am going to miss this 9pc offer!

  • +1

Is the 9 Pieces special still on today? I checked 2 KFCs near me and they say it's finished.

    • -1

I cant mark it as expired, I think since a few different people have edited it I cant edit it anymore.

      • Expiry rights expire after 14 days, we can mark it as expired if you can confirm that is the case? The deal originally stated that it ends today.

        Thanks

        • Yeah its showing as 9 for 10.95 on my app, my bad If I said 9th of July when I originally posted it.

          • @Vinodra: No probs, marked as expired. Thanks for following it up.

Edit: The 4 weeks from 11/6 expiry date was information from another user, not yourself. It looks like it was 4 weeks from actually from 4/6.

          • -1

@Vinodra: What about all the Ozbargainers who saw it last night and made a special trip to KFC? Good one OP typical KFC worker making mistakes!!!

            • -3

@bobwokeup: Cry me a river. I wasn't the one who added that expiry. Also you haven't even ever posted a deal, so don't be so entitled in the future.

              • @Vinodra: I don't represent any company like you do and if I did I would make sure there were NO mistakes.

                • @bobwokeup: OP did not supply the expiry date, as mentioned earlier.

                • -1

                  @bobwokeup: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:store_representative

"Employee - you work there as an employee or contractor but you're not part of sales & marketing nor do you represent the company."

Maybe look closer at my tag next time? Even if I did represent KFC, it was not even something I done in the first place.

As hamza said editing rights expire 14 days after the OP, the expiry date was added after those 14 days. Which you could have easily checked, instead of attacking me for no reason huh?

You said on a very recent comment "I personally try to avoid posting because of how people attack you." I'd say instead you're too busy attacking other people to post yourself.

                  • @Vinodra: Sounds like you're trying to justify the mistake. The OP is responsible for the content. Unless this other person that changed the expiry date is a moderator then I'd get it. Sounds like that wasn't the case but it was another user. Did the moderator validate the date? Did you check the date?

                    • @bobwokeup: The deal was updated by a moderator based on info supplied by other users/employees that the deal expired 4 weeks from 11/6 (from reports and info in a duplicate deal). However it appeared that 4 weeks should have been from 4/6.

Let's end the conversation there, attacking someone for posting a deal is not on.
