It was fractured enough on switch, I sure as heck won't like it on 3DS. Great price if you like it but I'd rather my $4.

    • Is the game good? This could me my first 3ds game in cartridge.

      • It's Japanese dark souls, but with a rpg and team work focus. You can play this alone, but a couple of friends will make this 10X more fun.

But I was invested in the psp era version, dunno about 3ds.

      • this was my first monster hunter game and yes it is good.

Make sure to play all the tutorials - there's alot to learn

  • I just sold a copy of this card only for $10 but damn if it didn't take six months to move.

      6 months for another $6?

Suffice it to say that this is a very difficult game to sell.

        • niche market

          • @undien: When I bought it I thought cause it's a big franchise, I'd find a buyer for it very quick. Still have another copy hanging around ;'(

            • @freakatronic: Back then (when this was released) not many people knew about the game. But it's now made more popular with MH:W…. but….. then people get XX instead of this cause of g-rank inclusion.

              • @undien: I tried playing it and found it's not at all my thing. Monster Hunter World looks super cool though.

                • @freakatronic: It was something you either love or hate. MH:W made things much easier and make the game more easier to start and progress rather than constantly hitting 'walls' you cant progress without being decent at the game.

I remember when I started with MH4U… I was stuck on the very first big monster (Quropecco) for a whole week (2-3 tries a day, and each try was 30 minutes cause I'd die or run out of time) and couldnt beat him - gave my friend my 3DS to beat him for me and then he carried me through online multiplayer till I got good armour and weapons so it was easier for me to play by myself. (Even then playing with friends online, they were like "stay in base if you die again we lose", since you get 3 faints as a team and I'd die twice just by getting poked by the monster)
Without my friends help I would've just put the game down and walk away. I love it now tho =P

                  • @undien: So this is works online for 3DS? I mean I never even knew that.

            • @freakatronic: 3 bucks delivered?

  • That's awesome! Is there still a community playing it?

Was a good game but you're gonna be hard pressed to find players nowadays.

Anyone who hasn't moved onto MHW on PC/PS4/XB1 will probably be playing MHGU on the Nintendo Switch which includes everything from MHG + a lot more. Additionally, these are both based off the original Japanese releases (MHX/MHXX) which came out a very long time ago.

  • Thanks for this. I picked up this along with some of the other cheap $4 3DS titles. Some new, some used. Depending if the new or used version was cheaper. This will be the first 3DS games I own since purchasing a New 2DS XL from one of the $99 deals earlier this year.

yeah i want to get cartridge game just one or two. all my other games are digital. probably a bit later, waiting for street fighter to become $5 haha

  • Usual be trick. Substituted second hand for new when I picked up. When I questioned they went to the draw and swapped it for a new one.
