Check your tab, both my workmate and I bought one yesterday. And his one turned out to have an extra front facing camera just aside the bright sensor, but mine doesn't have it.
The specification doesn't say it has a front facing camera.
And the built in software won't use the front camera, don't know if the system has the driver built in for it.
Anyone know the initia release batch has this?

Got to endeavor hills at open time, 2 other guys were waiting for the tab too. They said that they were expecting 3 today, and a further 4 later. The manager really didnt think that they would sell, but he was really nice and let us 3 put a hold on the 3 coming in. Mulgrave only had 2 at open and were sold out very quickly.
The quality of this tab seems not so good. My tab bought yesterday already got one button broken — the "home" button which was working at first and after i updated it, installed all the apps, i found it was not working any more :( I will go to the post office to see whether they still have stock to exchange one.

Still many stock in Optus Doncaster VIC. Mine is a bit different with Big W version? It comes with a case. Saw in Big W yesterday, it didn't come with a case. Also Dick Smith told me they're getting more stock next week so you can try price matching it. Good luck!

Free/bundled accessory… I'm a bit puzzled myself since the box a bit different too with Big W box which has a big red label saying 3GB data, but not in my box (say starter kit and optus sim card though).

Boggles me why did Big W advertised such a large markdown on a popular item when they had next to no stock?? Sounds like something a politician would do!

Quite a few of the dOptus shops have them in stock. But some how they have separated postpaid from pre-paid. Strange. Just have to negotiate a bit with the dOpeus staff. Remember to try and get one with a VGA camera on the front face as well… it's the luck of the draw… there's nothing on the outside of the box to suggest a front face camera… complete luck… I think the ones from the Online shop are definitely no front face camera… correct me if i am wrong… but the specs on the website don't indicate a front face camera.

Do you have the manufacturing date/week/batch for the one has front camera?

Got mine from Optus Shop at Sunnybank Plaza, Brisbane.
Seems they have got quite a few there (as of about 10am), give it a go if you are nearby :)
It seems like its better to get from the Optus shop, as they have a newer sim card that's bigger in size, and easier to put in - or you can ask the staff there to put it in and activate for you.

Went into the Optus shop at 10:00 and they said their system hadn't been updated and they couldn't sell one at $99. There were three left.
Went back at 11:00 and there was one left, and surprise surprise, their system could sell it at $99, so got the last one.
Unless there is a warehouse somewhere with extra stock, I think this will be sold out by lunchtime.
Wow! They are selling like hotcakes! I guess ppl will queue up the night b4 as if they are getting iPads if My Tabs were only available at Optus Shops. :)

Just bought one from Allphones Broadway. Was the last one as well as far as i'm aware. I called up 10 minutes before and inbetween the 10 mins i took to get there one was sold. Supposedly they had 10 this morning and they'd be selling like hotcakes!

2mm line of (I would say 6-7) dead pixels bottom centre of screen & a 2nd patch of 2 or 3 bottom right of screen. Didn't really notice until I was in a darker room with black background.
No-one else has mentioned, so assume it's not a known problem with these.
I know I caused the local PO pain & suffering, but they were great & swapped.
With all the hassles I have had with my ZTE T2 (Telstra mobile) I was a bit hesitant with this, but the replacement V9 looks ok so far.

Optus website updated between 6 to 7:30am.
I woke up at 6am and checked, it's still shwoing $149.
By the time I got to the office at 7:30am, it's updated to $99, and I bought one.
Rang all phones store at Rhodes shopping centre and the guy on the phone was absolutely rude with lots of 'ffffffff' words. It seems like everyone is trying to get one. Poor guy, I feel sorry for him but I just want a yes or no. Ordered one online and no more trouble finding stock now. Just wait for my delivery patiently.

I will give a quick review on the table after it has charged and I've played around.
The Optus Shop at Brookside suggested they were getting more stock in - but couldn't say when. I'd hazard a guess to say Friday/Saturday for those still looking.

Is the "$25 call credits" offer limited to BigW?
Same with the one I grabbed from Optus. No mention of $25 call credits or 100 sms's. Stupid me forgot to ask the salesperson.

Does your version from Optus include the bundled case? Mine has the case but not mention anywhere in the box about 3Gb or $25 credit. It mentions starter kit and optus sim card though. I asked the sales and sales didn't know.
Mine didn't come with a bundled case, but has a little sticker on the front which says "Up to 3GB^ Valid for 3 months". Haven't opened it yet so don't know what's inside, waiting till I get home from work! I asked the salesperson whether there was a case for it and she told me no.
Ah, just read the side of the box and it says the pack includes "Start-up date and standard national SMS". Nothing about $25 call credit. Damn.
I think you will be right. After you activate your Optus sim you can check your balance and it will show your $25 calls, 100 sms and 3Gb data. That's what happened with mine.

I rang a number of different places this morning and the other best bet was Big W at QV. The guy I spoke to said they have not arrived yet and are expecting them later today or tomorrow. Otherwise the Optus shops would be the places to try first.

Thanks for the link. Can we use the same case of Samsung Galaxy Tablet (7 inch)? Has anyone here who has got both tried? If they are compatible, I will probably get a Galaxy case as I am looking for a 2nd hand galaxy 7" when the price drops even further.
I have tried using my Samsung Galaxy Leather case and the Optus my Tab moves around alot in it. Also you cant access the Back button and the cutout for the camera in the back is not in the right place either. Hope that helps. Sharon

Btw boys & girls, the little 'camera-like' thingy in the front is a light sensor, not a camera. Just read it from its pdf 'My tab help' which came in the SD card.
The box doesnt say anything about front cam and the sales person doesnt know if it has one or not..what should I do..is there anyway to find out if mine has front cam without opening it as if i open it, i cannot get a refund!

Mine has a tiny camera like thingy close to ZTE label. From what I read, it's a light sensor. Anyway, you can't expect much from a camera from a device like this so I'm not gonna worry too much about it. The resistive screen need sometime to get used to, I suppose. Always missed the screen unlock process. Haha
my box says that the expiry date of the plan is 1 feb 2012 too…
Grabbed the last one from Bankstown all phones and Optus shop. The rest of the stores are out I stock. Especially the big w which has supposedly been getting around a hundred calls about it.

I think there's no front cam unless it's the ZTE Light? This is the ZTE V9 so i don't think so, but i could be wrong…
mine does'nt, i read somewhere the V9+ is the one with the front cam, is it labelled any differently ? i mean the stickoers on the end with ime etc

When I went to buy it the site was going really slow and stated $99. After I purchased it 20mins ago I refreshed the screen and the picture now says $149. The checkout price is still $99 so like I said they might update that price soon!
