The site says it is the TA-1043. Is the TA-1043 not the 3GB/32GB variant?
You are correct. TA-1043 is the 3GB/32GB variant.
I believe this deal is for the 4GB/64GB model as these are the specs listed on the product page in three different places. But I'll confirm shortly.
Keen to know if this is the 4gb model
Ditto
@DealMeIn: Ditto x2
Toby`s reply,
We can confirm the listing for the Nokia 6 (2018) TA-1043 4GB/64GB Dual Sim SIM FREE/ UNLOCKED - Blue Gold (Nokia 6.1) without Handsfree is indeed correct as it will have 4GB/64GB
Thanks!
@tranter: Personally I would have more faith in wikipedia
@Bargin Boy: Yeah I imagine it's most likely to be TA-1068, since the previous white version sold on TobyDeals was TA-1068 (Int'l DS 4GB/64GB).
TA-1043 is a 3GB/32GB variant.
TA-1050 is Australian variant.
We'll see, I ordered one.
Well… That can't be right. TA-1043 has 3GB RAM. Only the TA-1054 and TA-1068 have 4GB of RAM.
'TobyDeals' don't know what they are talking about.
The page shows "Nokia 6 (2018) TA-1043" as being 4gb/64gb, where as according to wiki (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_6.1) TA-1043 is listed as having 3gb/32gb. So which model is it?
$199 seems too good to be true for the 4GB/64GB model
You better believe it big fellow
That is a lot of phone for the money!
I've got a 32gb/3gb model I purchased from office works just a few weeks back paid $270 for it , does what I need, love this phone especially with Android one
Mine's TA-1050
how is the battery life?
Is it zippy? Thinking of getting one for the parents that just need the bare basics of texting and talking, occasional youtube app and browsing would be nice on wifi. No gaming.
Battery is perfect easily 1+ days use has fast charge too , I got mine locally as I bricked my mia1
Runs fine for me I'd say the only thing I had to get used to was using on screen buttons ,
this or Sharp S3? The deal below is expired but has been around $200 afew times recently.
There's uncertainty about receiving OS updates for the Sharp phone
Have Sharp. Want Nokia instead as the camera is better (GCAM) and you actually get software updates. No custom ROMs for Sharp nor even a way to unlock the bootloader atm. Also the dual sim is tacky as you need to cut (ruin) your sim to make it work. Sharp has a bigger screen though. Easier to warranty claims with Toby too than the random lying scumbag AliExpress sellers. And did I say PayPal peace of mind?
Glad I didn't jump on the Sharp phone. Seems like the support is lacking from the manufacturer and seller
Sharp is end of line. I guarantee there will be no updates based on my Aquos s2 experience which at least has some custom ROMs.
@spy: Agree. I'm still on the original Android 8 with no updates ever.
Features are nice to read when we open a mobile phone deal. Not all are familiar with Nokia models.
Here are some to start you off.
Just got one of the 32Gb, 3Gb ram ones for my folks and they think it is great. Download a different camera app, though, as the one onboard is not great
Which camera app do you use? does it give you better picture quality or something?
Apparently the Google Cam APK gives you significantly better picture quality.
Is it standard or did you have to get one for your specific phone?
@Bloodfart: There are a lot of different versions, depending on your phone. I tried it on my S7 but gave up after crashing repeatedly.
@Kontiki: i found a specific one for my oneplus 6 and after trying a couple of different versions, I finally found one that was stable (but it wasnt the latest).
What do they mean by "without Handsfree"??
no earphone?
same question
I believe this means that headphones are not included but could be wrong
Yep no wired headphones included
Yep, bought from Tobydeals and there were no handsfree headphones - which is IMO what they mean
Interesting the (out of stock) 4GB/64GB white model is listed as TA-1068 here - https://www.tobydealsau.com/en_AU/product/nokia-6-2018-4gb-6… so you'd want to be certain this blue model is the 4GB version.
This article mentions different model numbers for different countries but doesn't specifiy which are 3 or 4GB versions - https://www.gadgetguy.com.au/product/nokia-6-2018-value-mid-…
Beware of fakes and grey/parallel imports – these don’t work on all bands here
At this stage, we know there are several variants in 3/32, 4/64, Single and Dual Sim. There may also be different numbers for carrier locked and unlocked.
TA-1016 Hong Kong and Taiwan
TA-1068 China (no Google services and CDMA)
TA-1054 EMEA/Global
TA-1050 APAC
TA-1043 LATAM
TA-1045 US/Canada supports GSM
Wiki list something different to those codes but does show 1043 as 3GB and 32GB version…
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nokia_6.1
TA-1016 International, single SIM 3GB 32GB
TA-1043 International, dual SIM 3GB 32GB
TA-1045 US/Canada, dual SIM 3GB 32GB
TA-1050 UK/Aus, single SIM 3GB 32GB
TA-1054 China, with Google services 4GB 64GB
on first boot, dual SIM
TA-1068 International, dual SIM 4GB 64GB
TA-1089 India, dual SIM 3GB 32GB
Can confirm my TA-1068 is the international model as "SpendLess" pointed out with Google Services, Android One and OTA updates,
dual sim and is 4GB/64GB. Was/is good value at $300 and super bargain for around $200, even if it is the 3GB/32GB model.
Coming up as $33.90 standard shipping for me.
Should be free delivery on orders over $50.
Any luck finding if this is 3 or 4gb?
No. They didn't respond to my email yet.
I'm comfortable that it is the 4GB/64GB version as it's selling for the same price as the other recent Nokia 6.1 deal I posted from the same seller.
@tranter: After reading the comments on here, having a calculated guess, my money is on this being the 3GB/32GB version. Still a good deal for solid phone.
Only to metro areas.
Ok, thanks for the update.
before you get too carried away…
Oh dear
Just as bad ratings for Kogan as well:
https://au.trustpilot.com/review/www.kogan.com.au
Try Harvey Norman, even worse. Buyers often only leave feedback if their experience is poor.
There is always a risk when purchasing from a grey importer based overseas.
For $200 I'd risk it… however its kind of bad form that they dont even reply to someone's mail.
THey're in HK so they're 3hrs behind so it is business hours there.
I wouldn't mind paying $50-$100 more for local stock if anyone know
Officeworks have the 32/3gb ram version for around $300
3 years Android One guaranteed security updates from date of release - April 2018 - so until April 2021. Is that correct?
2 years OS updates to April 2020?
Nokia EVENTUALLY get the security update out, but not always in the same month it was released. They're pretty useless with them. (I've got this model, and it's OK, but I'd rather have my Xiaomi A1 back from my wife.)
Pulled trigger, my Huawei Y6 is on it's last legs, will feedback as to when mobile arrives and if as described.
same
Do you pay GST on top of this $199? as its overseas import
Is it pre-used or brand new one? Anyone?
It's brand new. Bought my Nokia 8 from Tobydeals and it comes sealed
Anyone know if these guys charge in AUD and are located in Australia? Just thinking whether to use 28 degrees or not?
Not located in Australia.
Can this run 4G on both sim cards simultaneously?
Should be 4G/3G from what I gather.
Anyone know if it supports fast charging or/and comes with a fast charger?
Also will the update be provided for Android 9 Pie?
There seem to be mixed reviews whether this model Nokia 6.1 supports QC2 or QC3, but pretty sure it's the 3, comes with a fast charger and
as it's an Android One device, get's major Android updates within a few months after the Pixel. The phone has been on Pie since early this
year.
+$15 shipping?
so better buy from teco or toby?
$34 shipping for me
Same here. :(
Is it just me or anyone get a A$9,999 … what a steal lol
same.. price error?
or ozbargained
yeah shows as $209 then once added to cart, goes up to 9,999
Um-ing and ah-ing about moving from my Sharp Aquos 2 to the Nokia 6.1. Specs are actually damn near-identical for real world use, and the Sharp actually outperforms the Nokia on Geekbench 4 - Multicore 4,177 for the Nokia (Techradar) vs. 4,230 on my phone. I'd like the guaranteed Android updates of the Nokia as Sharp has no interest going past 8, but I can make that happen myself. I think I'll stick with my Sharp, actually.
Nokia 6.1 is a bit of a sidegrade. You'd get a newer OS and better camera than S2. S2 has a nicer waterdrop screen, is smaller, has a front fingerprint scanner and camera can be improved with GCAM. S2 has some good xda-developer ROMS.
Wish the Aquos S2 (not B28-less C10) was still available to buy new.
Tempting, someone please help me decide:
Nokia 8.1 $460 6" 710 3500 2280 x 1080
Nokia 7+ $400 6" 660 3800 2160 x 1080
Nokia 7.1 $340 5.8" 636 3060 2280 x 1080
Nokia 6.1+ $300 5.8" 636 3000 2280 x 1080
Nokia 6.1 $200 5.5" 630 3060 1920 x 1080
$20 more for the Nokia 5.1 Plus. Think i'll go with that instead
Isn't 6.1 a bigger number than 5.1?
Nokia 6.1 is a better phone and also $30 cheaper. What do you like about the Nokia 5.1 Plus?
5.1 plus is a newer phone with an updated design.
Mostly it's the form factor. The 6 has a strange width to it with huge bezels. I'm giving this to my mum and I know she will find it awkward. 5.1 plus has a larger bezleless style display in a smaller form factor. Granted the 6 has a 1080p display, double the rom and 1gb more ram.
really tempted to get this and move off my redmi note 4, dont think i will notice much difference in performance, but for under 200$ im itching
gone up to $217 now… ozbargained
Says stock available. At $256 in blue or gold.
Just went to Harvey Norman and physically viewed and held this Nokia …it looks a lot better than pics and felt like velvet.
I asked Hardly Normal if they would match on price and was told that it is already on super special for $350.
Just bought from Toby …lets hope it arrive and is what it states it is.
Thanks Tranter - I bought one :-)
Coupon code for 3% off - CART3
which brings the price down to $210.50
Thanks mate, bought one using the code for $210.50, still a good price.
Also thanks to the OP!
Has anyone received phone or a tracking number?
Confirmation of it being packed about 30 mins ago. Didn't expect super quick delivery so no real complaints so far.
When did you place your order? I am waiting since the 8/5
On the 16th, as a result of this deal. I got a dispatched notice with Toll as the carrier last night. Tracking number supplied but not yet active which isn't unusual.
Hope yours turns up - might be worth checking with the seller…
@freddofrog42: When you receive the phone please update us to confirm it's the 4GB/64GB version. I'm sure it is but there's a few doubters around.
Thanks!
@tranter: I paid with paypal so if its not as advertised will be asking for my money back
@easternculture: Cool. I have no reason to doubt the advertised specs.
@tranter: Will do. I'm sure it will be fine and yes I used PayPal as well.
The tracking number has now been updated. It was confirmed as entering their system approx 24hrs ago so will depend upon space in the belly of a plane from HKG to SYD. I would expect it to get one of the planes out of HKG tonight - I say that as most air freight generally travels on passenger planes…..
I purchased this, but they were out of stock. 1 week later, I'm still waiting for a response to my request for a refund. Not purchasing from Toby again!
Pretty good price for phone with 64GB + microSD, NFC, B28, dual SIM.
