What if I'm already on the 100 plan ?

Can I downgrade to the 50 plan then go back up to 100 plan ?>

    • downgrade your plan to 50nbn and then wait by the computer and give it a few days you should receive email like i did. if it doesnt then maybe give ABB a call.

    • +5

No, this is only available to people who have received the email at this point in time.
      Downgrading won't trigger the email.

      • So only targeted at current members on 25 or 50Mb?

  • Im on the 50plan and just got the mighty for $15pm. Might call them to upgrade to the 100 as only $5 more for the double speed

    • Isn't 50 plan $79 at the moment?

You mean you already have fetch already for $15 a month, so $79+$15 better with this offer $99.

      • Wow!

MyRepublic offered me ~$60 / mon for NBN50:

        • prePay'h for 12 months, we gives 2 mon Free

        = $60 / mon, over the 14 mon (= free out-calls
over the the deal we took when prices rose)

  • Isn't fetch service free anyway, or are they giving you free packages?

    • Thats what i thought. My friend says he pays $1 a month for his

      • its $1 once off registration

      • $1 a month is for Movie Box for those that bought outright (unless they are on some really good ISP plan…)

ISPs used to give it away free, I got mine for free with Optus with no channel packs. But lately they seem to all be charging per month.

    • No, you rent the Fetch boxes. This promo covers the rental cost of the mini box which is $10.

  • +2

What will be benefit if we have Xiaomi Mi Box already? Is it only free 30 movies?

  • Can I access optus sport on this fetch box? (I have an optus sport subscription through my mobile phone plan)

    • It is a menu option in the box. I am away for work but havent tried to login with actual optus details.

    • +2

      yeah, it works for me
just need to sign in through the Optus Sports App on the Fetch Box.

  • Anyone on a NBN100 non unlimited plan got the offer?

I am paying $91 for 700gb, no email for me :(

  • I wouldn't be too concerned if you have the email. Customer rep just said it wouldn't be an issue to do it for me.

    • We're just clearing this up with our CSR teams, but it's not an automated email and is only available to those who have received it.

  • +1

I'm on the 100/40 500GB plan and no email for me. Are the ones receiving the email on the unlimited 100/40 plan?

  • No email for me too. Im on the 50/20 unlimited plan

    • I got it I am on 50/20, may be just contact them they will offer you.

  • What "Fetch Service" do you actually get - eg: Ultimate $20 bundle, one of the $6 packs, or…?

The 100/40 plan is currently $20 off first 6 months, so not sure if free Fetch is much of a deal?

    • +1

This offer is only for the Fetch Mini device and standard associated features as per the Fetch CIS.

The $20 off offer is for new customers, this is only for targeted existing customers.

      • Thanks for the reply ;)

Do you have to pay $25 postage?

  • +1

Just to clarify for everyone, this offer is only available to those that have received the email. It will have gone to the billing email address on your account.

    • +1

Can you clarify if it includes any channels, or is it just the box and $1 monthly fee waived?

      • It doesn't include any of the premium channel packs, but it does include the 30 pre-selected movies in the Movie box.

    • Just wondering what triggered the email?

Been contemplating both Fetch and NBN100, currently on NBN50 with ABB.

    • Hi Rep,
I have preordered 100 plan and am waiting for NBN to be connected (estimated 31 May). How long is this deal active for and do I count as an existing customer?

  • I guess we save $10 per month but paying an extra between $20-$40/month ? I am currently on 50/20 $59

    • I am currently on 50/20 $59

You are still on special offer.

      • Yes, I am. It was started Feb and will last until Aug.

  • What happens if you already have a Fetch TV box? Like those who are on Optus now. Can this still be used? Or does it become useless?

    • +1

i was with optus before and when we switched providers, our fetch has become useless. i ended up getting a retail box from JB Hi Fi so that I can keep using my box regardless of my ISP

      • Cheers, I hadn't really thought about it as it was bundled with the Cable plan.

      • Didnt optus try to get the fetch box back?

        • Still with them, no NBN for another few months.

        • +1

We were already over the initial 24month contract so we already "own" it. When we moved houses, they actually sent us new modems and Fetch. Then, it turns out they cannot service our house so I ended up with 2 modems and 2 Fetch! If anybody wants them, let me know. haha

          • @sigplay: I'm also past my 24m contract, but if I don't stick with Optus the box is useless so why bother keeping it?

  • +1

    Is it read as
"(Free Fetch Mini and Fetch Service for 12 Months) on NBN100 Plan by Aussie Broadband"
    or
"Free Fetch Mini and Fetch Service for (12 Months on NBN100 Plan) by Aussie Broadband"?

  • +1

There are 2 streams of getting Fetch:
    (1) Buy it outright for about $300 then a $1 one-off charge is needed to "activate" the box. Once you have it, you can use the box with any ISP.
    (2) Get it bundled from an ISP like Optus. Downside is that once you've changed ISP, you will no longer be able to use it. In this scenario, even if you "own" the box after a certain number of months, you will not be able to use it after switching to a different provider - making it something more like a rental

Rep, kindly confirm which type of box you are providing.

    • As above - This offer is only for the Fetch Mini device and standard associated features as per the Fetch CIS(aussiebroadband.com.au).

    • Our Fetch product is similar to the offering that you've outlined Optus has, in that it requires you to be subscribed to our broadband offerings too.
Also, as mentioned above this is only for the Fetch Mini :)

  • What’s the difference between the Mini and the Mighty?

    • +1

1tb hdd in the mighty. Plus the extra 3? tuners so you can record.

      • Is it possible to stream to another TV with like HTPC or Chromecast, etc?

        • not really sure what you mean. If you have a mighty and a mini you can play stuff on the mini which you've previously recorded on the mighty.

        • The Fetch Mighty (and Gen 2) have an inbuilt DLNA server, and you can stream FTA recordings to any half decent DLNA client (have tested this on my Xbox One, Nvidia Shield, PC etc).

Something semi-related, is that they recently enabled live TV streaming between a Mighty (or Gen 2) and a Mini, which is pretty sweet, especially in rooms (or garages!) where there is no antenna:

          • @kirt:

Something semi-related, is that they recently enabled live TV streaming between a Mighty

Thanks that is want I want to know, I am using MediaPortal to stream to another room without antenna at the moment.

Can it also play/stream movies/video from Hard Disk? Does it support DTS, surround from Netflix, Stan or local movie files?

  • I have a Fetch mini box bought from iiNet. Can this box be used on ABB network?

    • No

  • I'm on the 100 plan no email for me :(
Could be because I'm only paying $79 a month for 6 months

    • Well I'm on 100 and paying $99 with no email so…

  • I'm on the 100/40 unlimited plan but didn't receive this. I am interested

  • Hi Rep,

I have preordered 100 plan and am waiting for NBN to be connected (estimated 31 May). How long is this deal active for and do I count as an existing customer?

  • +1

I just received the email this morning. For me, to pay an additional $40 (currently on $59) to upgrade the speed from 50 to 100 and only to save $10 for a media box, it is not worth it, unless it includes the extra channels. And we have to sign up for 12 months as otherwise we will have to pay $10/month for the box.

  • +1

Just called them, you have to have been a customer for at least 12 months to qualify

  • Is the $20 off offer still active? I've just moved houses and was considering Aussie Broadband.
