I think if I was going for a 2600 + 2080 I would grab 16gb RAM while I'm at it. But still insane value for the price

  • Can anyone confirm whether these guys are managing their recently promised 7 day turnaround?

    • +4

I got my system in 5 business days

    • +3

Got mine under 7 days 2 weeks ago.

      • +4

        5 business days?

    • +3

I ordered late night on the 2nd of May and received my computer on the 8th. So four business days.
(The assembly was good too; I'm very happy with it.)

    $509 for the 2300X + 8gb RX580 + 120gb ssd prebilt system is the real deal! https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Ryzen-3-2300X-RX-580-8GB-120GB-S…

    • +5

Yeap and Ryzen 3 2300X GTX 1660 $594.15 too to complete the list. But I'm too lazy posting another deal. Hope someone will.
      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Ryzen-3-2300X-GTX-1660-6GB-120GB…

actually i think that's a better deal. Considering techfast have been using the BIOSTAR RX580 8gb versions which are apparently an RX570 in disguise, and an overclocked GTX 1660 trades blows with a GTX 1070, that's the better deal for the extra $85

edit: but you don't get the RGB case with the 1660 deal.

        • Do you have a link to discussions about the Biostar RX580 underperforming?

I bought one in a previous deal and in benchmarks it seems to perform as well as the average brands

          • -1

@railspider: I don't. i just recall a discussion on a previous deal from here about it. Actually i was probably wrong, i have a Biostar RX 580 8gb i just never checked it (was scared to know the real truth!) but i did for the team, and it seems to have identical specs and performance to a true 580.

          • @railspider: You'll need to check if yours is the 2048SP version which is essentially a slightly overclocked 570.

Here is the post. The related discussion is on page two at the moment

1660Ti trades blows with a 1070. The straight 1660 is not as fast, but still a bit faster than a 580.
Personally I'd pay the extra ~$100 for the 2600 and 1660Ti
          https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Ryzen-5-2600-GTX-1660-Ti-6GB-120… ($696.15)

      • That's such a bargain!

      • Spewing! I got my system last sale. Could have saved a few dollars. Oh well….

The build is good quality for the price, except for the psu, pretty noisy.

    • +1

How would this go with VR?

  • +2

Still wondering how they getting their gpus so cheap..

    • mobo $80, CPU $256, ram $54, video $1000, case $30, PSU $60 = $1480. The price before the ebay discount is $1444. If they can shave a few dollars off here or there then it's doable using the cheapest components (which they do), but I don't know how they're making any money.

      • +3

That's consumer prices. They would be getting the components much cheaper than that. I don't know what they're margins are, but they wouldn't be selling it at these prices if they weren't making a profit.

        • They are, although I don't think the margin on consumer hardware is very large anymore - especially not for small players like this.

      • +3

They're here to boost reviews then.. WAM SCAM THANK YOU MAN :P

      • -4

They make money by their "upgrades" options with extra markup.

You can't run this machine out of the box since theres no windows provided and also with just a 120gb ssd.

If you know how to obtain windows elsewhere and got a spare storage HDD to put in, then that's great, this deal is good for you. If you don't know what your doing, then you'll need to pay a few hundred more for windows and extra HDD.

        • +4

I don't begrudge them the $20-$40 for the 2GB hard drive or even the $50 extra for 8GB more RAM.

What kills it for me: "Warranty: 12 Month Return To Base Warranty". I don't have a good deal on mass shipping like they do, and that's a hard pill to swallow for a manufacturing or assembly problem that wasn't my fault.

          • +4

@syousef: You don't pay shipping fee for return to base warranty. They will provide you with a prepaid shipping label and some courier will come to pick it up (personal experience).

        • A 120gb SSD is plenty to load windows and a variety of applications onto (I was still using a 120gb until last year).

          • +2

@macrocephalic: Wha?? This is a gaming PC, not a general use PC. I doubt anyone buying this PC with a 2080 will just install basics "applications"

How many games can you fit in a 120gb ssd after windows and other basic applications (office)

Not many, GTA 5 takes 70gb and Call of Duty infinite warfare 101gb

            • @Homr: I think they mentioned in another thread that gamers usually want to install their own drives so the 120gb is just the bare minimum for the OS drive.

  • Would this run the new total war/s ? asking for a mate

  • What witchcraft is this? They must have a magic cauldron spitting out 2080 GPUs if they are to make any money.

    • The magic cauldron is called Ebay.

  • Looking to get myself a new computer, I know one of these would be overkill for what I plan on doing but thinking of biting the bullet as I'd like the opportunity to use it for gaming/streaming.

Question - Is the OS all I need to get this up and running? States storage isn't included in the ebay description.
Apologies if this is a stupid question, I'm inexperienced in the computer tech world.

    TIA

    • +1

It includes a small SSD (120GB) which is OK for OS, but you will definitely need to add a larger drive for apps and storage.

      • Cheers, that's what I thought. Just wanted to double check before I ended up grabbing one and filling it up in half an hour.
Any recommendations on storage? Thinking of just going though the same seller to purchase.

    • +4

I've never had any problems with the $10 windows 10 licences from ebay etc. When a retail one is $300, it's a gamble I'm willing to take. You have to have a lot of $10 licences fail before a $300 one becomes viable.

      • +2

My thought process, lol. I am not going to buy a single use "legit" OEM licence even if I had the money, and regrettably don't have $200 to drop on a retail key I'll probably use once every 3 years…

    • +1

In addition to more storage space, an extra 8GB RAM would be really useful for a system like this.

    • +1

Windows 10 is installed, but unactivated. It's usable, you just can't customise some things.

Storage you'll wanna upgrade, just for the sake of storage.

      • Is that confirmed? Or just speculation?

(curious because this would make life easier)

        • +1

Unless it's changed since Dec, it should be.

I'm fairly sure it was stated in some deal posts as well.

        • +1

Yep, 10 Home is already installed along with all the drivers you need. It's very handy and time saving! (Source: got one of these last week.) I was lazy and didn't look hard and paid $15 for my eBay Windows key which activated perfectly.

  • My god that's a good deal. I thought I did well to get my 2080 for $1045 but now I feel like an overpaying pleb

  • +2

So cheap, looks like youre basically paying for the cpu and gpu. Everything else is free

  • Got mine today, 120GB has windows but you need your own licence.
I got upgraded RAM to 16, they are G.SKILL but they look cheap :D, the RTX 2080 from Asus, MB from BIOSTAR (upgraded to B45M2), the case looks nice but tiny, but I was able to fit my 2 other HDDs also, it wasn't put together properly (just had to snap thing together)

Not sure yet if I'll regret not buying the GPU only or not

    • How long did it take to receive from the time/day you ordered?

      • +1

A week, purchased on the 5th, got it today

        • Nice, can't wait.

Now just to work out what drives I want to use… thinking of putting my old OEM PM981 256GB drive in as a boot drive, and using the SATA SSD for games.

    • @et3rnal: Could you tell us more about the GPU? Is it blower style, two fan or three fan GPU?

    • I'm in a similar boat to you - did it come prewired for power/SATA for your extra HDDs? It looks like the Armaggeddon KAGAMI K-1 case which says it fits "- 2 x 2.5" SSD drive bay, 1 x 3.5" HDD drive bays, 7 x expansion slots".

  • Has anyone been able to find their listing for the a320m to b350m motherboard upgrade? looking to get one of the cheaper computers and the a320m is the main thing that's holding me back right now,

    • seems they have removed the upgrade!
you have to pay 200 odd more to get this with 2 games..

  • +1

Thanks Op. I bit the bullet and ordered with the 15% off PHOENIX code for eBay Plus (which I only signed up for the trial a few days ago to get my computer_alliance hard drive shipped for free!).

I also used PLACE code on a separate order to upgrade the SSD too :)

  • +1

Epic deals. There's just so much value in this. Assembly is good too, so not worth building your own as cost savings will not be huge. This will be suitable for most use cases except for the most extreme OCers.

    • +1

Yeah honestly I was looking at building myself a PC towards the end of last year but then these deals starting showing up and I couldn't possibly build one myself cheaper. I know they cheap out on some of the parts but it runs fine enough for me. My plan is to just gradually upgrade parts as I need, mainly the PSU after the warranty period expires.

      • +1

I'm thinking the same. I figured it's a good way to start and then I can remove bits and pieces over time as I need to.

        • +1

Yeah that's exactly what I've done.

Thought of picking parts myself and to complete my own build, but came across this deal back in Christmas and just decided to get it.

Will slowly part out and upgrade as necessary.

Just got my techfast pc from the ryzen 2600 1660ti deal. Very neat install and fast delivery! Pretty happy with them

    • when did you order? location being delivered to?
how much did it cost in total?
could you tell me the brands of the components?

    • This is the system I'm considering!
      Would you recommend extra cooling?

  • PHOENIX discount code isn't working for me. I've joined eBay+
"This code can't be applied to your order."
