Thanks for sharing. Can anyone recommmend a good quality dryer at a good price?

    • +4

      just bought this [ bosch wtw87565au ]
      $1181

      • +1

Thanks for the info. For that price I think I’d almost go a two in one washer dryer

        • +9

separate one is much better than 2 in 1

          • @Temporary username: Better in what way? Cheaper or more durable?

            • @nfr: Better quality, less to go wrong, and if something does go wrong, the other half still works.

            • @nfr: energy is not wasted on drying the machine

          • @Temporary username: Yeah 2 in 1's aren't any good.

+1 for bosch heat pump dryers. I have the 8kg version WTH85200AU. Takes longer to dry than your conventional dryer but does a good job while using bugger all power. Have a bosch front load washer too that's been going for about 10 years without any issues.

      • I wouldn't spend than $500 on a dryer. Dryer is a dryer, Just get a Electrolux / F&P or LG. Not something you always use.

        • +1

Not true.. heat pump dryers only use a small amount of power compared to traditional types and don't pump moisture into the air.

          • +1

@thefunkygibbon: It depends on what you need. Many people have a dryer sitting in the garage for when they need it, but only turn it on a few times per year.

For that, a fancy model is total overkill.

            • +1

@[Deactivated]: I don't disagree with that people have different needs but to say a dryer is a dryer doesn't present someone with information as to the reason heat pump dryers are more expensive and benefits of them. If we take a different example, say someone who uses the dryer most of the year (maybe someone in a flat or elderly) and the use it inside would save a lot of money on electricity and not have a damp laundry.

              • -1

@thefunkygibbon: I know what you saying, if you using it all the time, it's fine to spend extra for decent model (energy saving / long lasting).
But I have noticed few ppl here who buy Bosch/Miele dryer just because then they be a matching brand to the washing machine
Or just because its a German design / Made in Germany.
                Or good quality.

But in my case, I'm using Electrolux for past 10 years. Only use handful times during the winter. For me its good quality product.

  • Won't deliver to my postal address. :(

    • +2

I had the same issue a while ago.
Their website delivers to my (regional) address, but the eBay listing wouldn't. I sent them a message on eBay and they replied telling me to place the order with a generic Sydney postcode (they said to use Sydney as the suburb too, but I left it as my own to be safe), then to message them immediately afterwards advising them to change the suburb.
Check their website with your address first, then message them, they should be able to accommodate you.

      • Good to know, thanks!

Thanks for the tip. helped me too

        Ordered one. Thanks again!

        • Glad to be able to help! :)

Appliance online has really good service and quick delivery when I bought a washing machine last time.
Thanks op. Was waiting for this and bought a Bosch dishwasher

Excellent machine, but the drum is abit small despite their weight capacity.

Comes with better "quite" motor found on more expensive machines.

Bought ours for around $800 some time ago with two amex card rebate.

Son of a $@@&!! bought ours recently from TGG for $644. I can say this is one darn quiet machine with 15min quick wash capability.

    • Is the 15 minute wash any good?

      • +1

It works well with something you probably have only worn for a day, but I wouldn't use it for anything more than that. The standard cycle is about 40-80 min anyway (depending on whether you have got the eco or speedy setting on), so it doesn't take long.

I have this machine and it's absolutely one of the best I have had over the years. I have had a high-end Miele with all the auto detergent dosing and what not. It was nice, but this machine has got what you need for everyday washing and offers the best value. it's quiet as, even during spin cycles.

        • So only for 1 item of clothing or can you put a few?

          • +1

@John Kimble: Half a load I recommend. But lightly soiled clothes only, ie. work dress shirts, pants, pyjamas. Nothing with major sweat.

      • +1

You can also change the 15min to 30min which I usually use. I find the 15 isn't quite enough time to wash properly but 30min is perfect for pretty clean items.

I can also recommend giving Beko washing machines a look. I have purchased 3 so far, 2 were as a gift for my siblings, in a period of 4 years, can't complain about anything so far. A reason why you should consider Beko is that you get an extended 3 years of warranty after online registration which is 5 years in total for all parts and labour and 10 years which comes as standard on the motor.

    • Cheers. Warranty is important although this is damn cheap

  • Does appliance online allow you to delay delivery? Eg a month or two later?

    • Possible, did it once
Just confirm with them and then place order

      Thanks

    • I delayed delivery by 10 days & changed delivery address, just called them after the confirmation email from Appliances Online came through (I'd called them about this before purchasing and had been told it wasn't a problem). Longer than that though, I've no idea.

    • I did for two months, just let them know.

  • Thanks for sharing. Can anyone recommmend a good quality dishwasher at a good price?

    • I’d only ever buy Bosch. Chances are there’s one in the eBay sale somewhere.

Good washing machine, bought this model 10 years ago (back then this model was around $1000) and it's still going strong in a family of 5. Quiet when washing, doesn't use too much water and only a slight jet whine (quite addictive actually) when spinning dry. Important thing is to set the leg height so there is no vibration and it's stable on a solid floor.

  • Picked this up for ~$700 at the end of last year. Great machine, excellent at this price.

  • Got one last time, everything is fine except the drum is small, it can probably only fit 5kg.

  • Got one for 600 from GG. Happy with it. I've used a better (more expensive) Bosch machine but that was in a rental that I didn't pay for. Big difference was the controls were much nicer to use and was quieter. However, with this machine, we do all our loads at night with the laundry door open (laundry next to bedroom) and sleep through it.

  • Argh sold out whilst in my cart! AO staff said heaps in stock so I guess have to wait for tomorrow
Really hope I can one as I just sold my old machine lol

  • Cheers OP I bought one just then, was a good time to use these ebay vouchers

    • It's getting delivered today at 2PM, pretty good service

  • back in stock! just got one thankssss,

    edit: actually one left!

    • I bought the one left :-)

  • Back in stock. Just bought one.

  • Bought one yesterday when the price was $678.00 but now is $659.00. Any chance we could get the money refunded?
    Thanks.

    • Nope, the guarantee applies to the actual price paid after coupons, etc, not the pre-discounted price. See https://pages.ebay.com.au/buy/Best_Price_Guarantee/. It also looks like you can't apply the PHOENIX code to this anymore.

      • I just bought a min ago and successfully applied Phoenix so it worked out 566.10

I think can mark back as available

        Thanks OP

        • And cheaper again. Funnily, it wasn't showing me the PHOENIX code as an option, lesson learned. Cheers. For anyone who is curious, best price guarantee doesn't apply as the guarantee doesn't apply within eBay.
