  • These are the QVO, not the EVO ssds.

    • Thanks, fixed it

  • Dang, thought it was EVO. On a good note, it's actually $139.23 because Shopping Express take 10% off then apply 15% off. $20 CB = $119.23 final price.

    • I have link 860 evo as well which is same price

      • QVO is cheaper, $139.23 before cashback.

now I know how I made the error. so many tabs open. Fixed both prices before cashback

        • +1

          It shows 154
EDIT: 10% extra on the check out. Awesome

    Great price for 860 Evo

  • QVO $20 cashback, Evo $22 cashback.

QVO really that much worse than EVO?

    • id like to know too. its just going to be a game drive so wondering if the price difference is worth it.

      • +3

Differences won't matter for a game drive. Any SSD would be fine for that.

    • +1

If its primary drive, definitely get the EVO. Even secondary drive I would consider the EVO unless its substantially more expensive (like with the 2TB and 4TB drives).

I mean, it depends on what the $30 saving means to you really.

    • +6

No. I have both 1TB QVO and 1TB EVO. Only difference was 4k write being 33% faster on EVO. All other metrics well within margin of error.

    • +1

Little performance aside, the main difference is the longevity. There is a reason server SSDs are still SLC not even MLC!
So yeah, performance in day to day life is not noticeable but these are not designed to last (as the material degrades much more quickly):
      SLC > MLC > TLC > QLC
      This is short and informative:

Dang, I just never learn. Note to self, never buy anything because it will be cheaper 3 days later.

    • -5

Nope, electricity has been increasing in price ever since privatisation.

Which was the opposite of what neoliberal economic theory predicted.

It is now a major threat to the economy according to the ACCC and the Government failed to take their recommendations and left it to continue increasing. Only The Greens have pledged to remove it and drop prices immediately by 40% so that foreign owned businesses stop getting your money.

      • +1

Be wary of any politicians offering quick solutions. Most of the time it's just kicking the problem down the road. And when it explodes it will be much worse. The politicians are only in power for a few years but the supply can't come in when they have next to no certainty in being able to make adequate returns over 20+ years.

Foreign businesses paid a lot of money to acquire those assets when they were privatised. The government already took the money and spent it. To stop the foreign businesses getting paid you've got to ask yourself on whether you are happy to buy them back from the foreign owners.

By the way these old aging powerstation need a lot of cash injection to keep them going.

Wow, that's some vomit you were waiting to dump. If only it wasn't 95% off topic

        • Sorry! Occupational hazard

    • +2

I can't decide if I should get this or wait a bit longer.

      • +6

If it helps, in my experience with the Evo, I paid $8.68 more 3 days ago so if you wait another 59.49 days (rounded off), it should be free.

        • +1

          Amen!

        • +4

          Extrapolation, a flawless tool.

Wow this is dirt cheap. NAND drives are constantly coming down. If only Intel CPU's were the same.

  • anyone know whats the cheapest the 1tb 860 evo has ever been?

    • +1

      154 after cashback I believe

      • +1

I checked my diary and you are spot on. I bought $199.2 from Shopping Express last November and got $45 cashback.

    • confirming that this deal $150.12 after cashback is the cheapest since the previous cashback in December 2018.

  • +1

    Maximum buy: 5! lol. I wanted 10.

    • +2

      Settle down there Broden!

      • I doubt if this could be flipped at a profit.

        • Yes It is. To resell overseas.

  • Anyone else seeing per-item shipping cost == $50? Post code 26xx.

Is this a lack of eBay Plus thing? Nope, it's just racism against 26xx. Free postage to Perth. Cheaper to post to USA than Canberra.

    • Yeah 29xx as well. Even if you collect from a ParcelPoint it still wants $50 for express delivery.

Actually I selected a ParcelPoint near me, then changed my shipping address to my normal ACT suburb but state as NSW and a 2000 postcode, selected the free standard shipping option, and it then allowed me to click the free parcel collect from the ParcelPoint that is close to me. YMMV.

  • Thanks OP! You just saved me 8 precious bucks!
