The price war has begun heats up popcorn

Not Melbourne based, and minimal customer service.

(They might have a Melbourne distribution centre, but it seems bulk of the stuff is from China)

    • For 10000mAh power bank, we shipped out from Melbourne by mail service so customer will not get tracking code. It will take 2-3 days longer than eparcel. 20000mAh Power bank send by eparcel would be quicker. If you did not get 10000mAh within 3-7 business days base on different locations, you can contact us at [email protected].

      • I sent a email to complete silence about two weeks after the dispatch date. So no, it ain't the difference between eparcel and auspost.

Also, it was being delivered to Melbourne as well.

After being ignored for a week, I sent another email last week, which you finally responded. Another power bank is apparently being sent. But after a month, I am still without a power bank.

        • Please send me your order no, I will check for you.

        • +1

It's been a month for me for the previous 10000mAh deal. I've submit a PayPal claim now. Shopro clearly lying about where they are shipping from. Even AusPost isn't that slow sending from Melbourne to Brisbane.

Never had issues. Always deliver within 3 days in Melbourne. FYI - Xiaomi items are made in China.

  • I know there must be a difference, but on eBay they have a similar sounding device for $17.49. Is it the same or different?

    Or this one for $22.84

Neither of those sellers have any feedback as a seller.

      Hacked accounts probably!

    • +2

The difference is those are fake/hacked eBay accounts. Not even in China are the power banks sold for that low.

  • +5

If you like to get what you paid for I'd suggest buying elsewhere.

It took three weeks for them to deliver an order to Brisbane. Once I received it and found half the order missing, they emailed me to let me know they had no stock and could not fulfil my order in the first place.

They agreed to a refund but never came through.

    • +1

Please send message of order no, I will check for you.

      • +1

Can we save the downvotes for if he doesn't come through. OzB at it's worst.

        • +14

So people only get customer service if they post it on a forum?

          • +2

@dyziplen: I want to solve the problem first. Please send order no, I will check your order and find out why refund has not came through and do manually refund if necessary.

          • +15

@dyziplen: Your point is a fair one. It shouldn't require this name and shame approach. However how stupid is it to punish someone for trying to help? Do we really want to discourage this behaviour? Because at least this way if you post publicly, you might get some help. If you punish the company or individual for trying to help, they'll be less inclined to bother. The incentive isn't there if they're going to have their name dragged through the mud either way!

        • Nice to see the mods unpublish the racist comment. It may have been a poor taste joke but in this context it is mean spirited and absolutely racist.

Just to show there were issues:

          https://imgur.com/a/HI7m0sF
          1st screen - 5 Feb - Order dispatched
2nd screen - 14 Feb - Turns out this wasn't true. They didn't have stock and my order wasn't even packed.

And it went on and on from there….

I think a downvote is a fair penalty for being dishonest and stuffing me around.

          • +2

@[Deactivated]: I was speaking about the downvotes on the comment.

I agree given your experience that a downvote on the deal is appropriate.

@[Deactivated]: Thanks for your information. Have followed up and sorted out.

            • +3

@Gearbite: Thank you. Mistakes happen - Its nice to see you took the effort to sort them out.

Sounds more like an issue with the postal service…

I had a delivery issue, for another product, from Shopro…
It was handled promptly, and efficiently, without delay.
Based on my past experience, although there was an issue, I would highly recommend Shopro to deal with.

Does this charge small devices well? Eg bluetooth earbuds, wireless mice, bike lights etc?

  • -1

I swear I bought one of these for a fair bit cheaper last year.

    • +2

There was an older model with micro-USB input. I believe this is USB-C input. Not sure if there are any other changes.

      • Makes sense. Mine is white with micro USB. Think I paid about $52

        • Also this new one supports USB PD output for charging XPS, Macbook etc.

  • what is the retail price in China? Will there be a bargain coming up with a small margin from that?

    • +3

      RRP¥199 in China, around A$42.

  • Is Shoppro reputable? Will these be genuine?

  • Would I get this by Friday if I order today?
I'm off to Vietnam on Saturday night.

    • We ship from Melbourne. Where is your location?

      • Melbourne!

        • Should be fine, make sure order asap.

  • great price, just ordered mine last week from gearbite and arrived today. Super fast shipping.

Bought the 10,000 mAh Xiaomi 2S and was impressed with their shipping times, got in within 2 days from their Oakleigh warehouse at Vic. Not even express post, was some special e-parcel post with Auspost.

  • Hey guys might sound like a stupid question , but whats the difference between Xiaomi and ZMI , are they practically the same?
    this looks very similar https://www.gearbest.com/power-banks/pp_662137.html

    • +1

ZMI are a Xiaomi owned company who make their power banks. Some are released under the Xiaomi name while others are under ZMI.

  • Can you use the power bank with a Surface Pro 4 connected with a Sufaface connector USB-C adapter.

  • +2

I bought one earlier this morning and has been shipped with Auspost tracking number this afternoon.

Says ‘Gearbite’ in the AusPost email.

  • Does this come with any cable?

    • +1

Should come with a short USB A - USB C cable in the box

    • Comes with one small usbA to usbC

      • +1

Received today, confirmed has one super short USB A - USB C cable

  • It doesnt charge laptop that should be charged (appropriate wattage and usb C charging)

    • +1

Along with the right amount of wattage and usb c pd the two also need to be compatible with the waats v voltage.

If your laptop needs 20V/45W this battery will not work as it is only 20v/2A ( 40w ), but can charge at 15v/3A ( 45w ).

I only worked this out too recently through reading comments from more knowledgeable people than me lol.
