Would it be worthwhile upgrading my i5-2500k with this?
Well that would mean upgrading your motherboard and ram as well. I recently upgraded my i5 2500K to an i7 3770k. Just swapped out the CPU. Only cost me 150 bucks for a 2nd hand chip. To be honest, it didn't really make much of a difference though. Runs a little smoother in CPU intensive games maybe.
What do you intend to use it for?
I only upgraded my CPU from an i5-750 to a 8700k because it couldn't keep up with VRs 90fps.
Hnngggg still only 8 c/t for this price.
