      • Hi Nitro 123,

        You're welcome.

        Thanks for sharing.

        Have a nice evening

    • This brand any good?

  • Wow this is excellent value, better than the Techfast 2080 that's cheaper than msy!

    • sarcasm, I sense.

      • Why would I upvote something I'm being sarcastic about?
        IMHO it is better value.

Ha almost made think about replacing my 1070 nice try ozbargains

Hah, I'd just go for the 2060 personally (the same model but 2060 is stocked at mwave for $529) or a v56 (with a UV/OC), way better value.

      • Why 2060 over this?

        • -1

They're pretty close performance wise (going off the numbers I remember), but there's a large price gap.

          • @N1NJ4W4RR10R: You'd 'upgrade' a 1070 to a 2060? What for? Allergy to money?

            • @scuderiarmani: OP was talking about upgrading a 1070 to a 2070, I said if they were going to upgrade they'd be better off going for a 2060/v56.

Nvidia's naming system is just stupid. The 2060 is equivalent to a 1070ti/1080, whereas the 2070 is just a bit above the 1080. The only real difference is VRAM.

              • @N1NJ4W4RR10R: I know what you said, but in no way is a 1070 to a 2060 a justifiable upgrade… factoring in costs and all.

It's enough of a stretch to question whether a 2070 would be too…

I'd be skipping a generation if money was of concern.

                • +1

@scuderiarmani: I would absolutely skip this gen, Nvidia's offerings are no better then pascal. Was just a "if you were going to upgrade, x is a better option"

                  • @N1NJ4W4RR10R: Yeah I've been doing that for years, current pc 2600k started with a GTX580 to a GTX780 to a GTX1070 just finished ordering my new 9900k build seems to be the best way to do thing

Just to make things more difficult for people:

AMD 50th Anniversary Free* games promotion announced

Since it just got announced, retailers with existing stock are kinda in a bad position (they don't have the codes). AMD CPUs can also claim… Now, get a AMD CPU or wait for Ryzen 3rd gen….

    • Zen 2 apparently have a 13% IPC increase on Zen+, along with a Hz increase too, so they should be fast processors.

Turns out that's a re-hashed rumour from October last year, but it seems reasonable.

Gaming should see a much bigger boost overall.

      • I'd be waiting on real world benchmarks before I get too excited about anything…. plenty of disappointment from all parties before.
