I was given a 6c Card for purchasing Vortex that expires 15/5/19 with multiple uses. This is even better.

The NRMA app is pretty good for locating the cheapest fuel too, and subtracts the discount for comparison.

The Caltex attendant asked whether I was a member when I presented my W/W rewards card earlier today - every cent counts with fuel prices atm

      • now it looks like the cycle is resetting again… prices are going up

      • +1

Did you get your 4c/l Woolies discount as well as the NRMA?

        • No - the attendant was just checking as she said that no-one was using their rewards card since the NRMA offer became available this morning.

          • @[Deactivated]: Was your intention to earn WW rewards points when you presented you WW rewards card earlier today?

I didn't know you can earn WW rewards points with participating Caltex.

            • @BuyNow Think Later: You can ever since woolworths sold their holdings on woolworths branded Caltexs.

            • @BuyNow Think Later: No - only to get the 4c fuel discount

Does this stack with Woolies Everyday Rewards (4c) and my 6c Caltex card? If so, my petrol (98) is going to be very cheap. I only filled up last night at $1.63/L.

  • Do the 6c cards stack with the Woolies receipts?

    • Woolworths receipts aren't a thing, their everyday rewards cxard took over years ago for fuel discounts .

      • Hmm strange, I still use them ha ha didn't know this.

        • I didn't know they still printed them on reciepts like col ess still do.

I thought a couple of years ago to push everyone to the rewards card they loaded them onto there.

Seems I'm the one confused haha

          • @2024: People who pay at Woolies with a rewards card do, but people who do not still get it printed as long as you spend over $30 of course.

        • Get the Woolies card, no need to keep receipt.

So anyone confirm this is stackable ?

          • +1

@capslock janitor: My local store in Coffs Harbour allows me to scan NRMA first, then Woolworths and manually deletes the extra discount but leaves the card number for points.
            Management supposedly don't allow stacking.

Technically it’s not suppose to stack. In fact can’t even earn Woolworth points - I tired a few times haha got rejected 9/10 “ sorry cant use the Woolworth card if your using nrma “

But I had one cashier who scanned my nrma and Woolworth card ( so 0.05 and 0.04) - this was at north Ryde - but that was once off…

    • I've had similar experiences hit and miss (the 6c stacking with Woolworths rewards)

    • I was able to stack for a few months. It's only recently they stopped that

  • Even with the 7 discount I can get with this it’s still more expensive compared to the bp down the road

    • Thats the exact opposite to any BP outlets I've seen. They seem to think their fuel warrants at least a 4c premium anywhere I go.

      • +2

I find this the case with coles. A quick check in my area Coles 176.9, Caltex 170.9, bp 163.9, 7-11 169.9

    • Good to have choices

    • +1

Horsley Drive BP at Fairfield East/Villawood is usually very cheap.

      • -1

        It's callef BP Carrington.

        • +1

Yeah cause that's helpful for location. ;)

  • Upvote because I'm an NRMA member and this is better than nothing. But personally, I'm sticking with my 7-Eleven app. In my area Caltex aren't competitive, at all unless you compare them to Coles Express.

    • What app do you use to check?

Is cheapest fuel better than discount with the usual servo?

    • Cheapest 95 at 7-11 is 145.9
      Using NRMA/Caltex I get for 139.9

7-11 is good for those "we ran out of 91" moments though.

      • Interesting how it varies. Where I live, 7-11 are consistently the cheapest and the gap widens of you lock before an increase. The only one that gives them a run for their money is a sole Metro who I'll fill up at when I can't do better.

  • I got NRMA insurance, is it different from NRMA member?

    • +1

Yes - refer to this link

  • can anyone confirm if this works in VIC

    • Confirmed - the map shows affiliated Caltex service stations Aus wide

    • Are you RACV member or NRMA member? So, the question is - can RACV members in VIC use their card to get same discount as NRMA members?

      • I'm an NRMA member but i live in vic.
NRMA had better roadside options so i chose them.
confirmed the discount works in vic- filled up this mornin'
