What’s the most popular flavour?
I'm a bit confused..i thought keto diets wouldnt have much carbs..
The shakes have a fairly high amount of sugar ? Also to be mixed with water or milk ? I also thought milk wasn't part of a keto diet with most opting for almond milk ?The ingredients list is nothing special, but these are not high in sugar or carbs, so not sure what you're reading.
Really ? I'm reading 11.2g of carbs per 100 for the choc shake. Compare that to something like the choc mint in youfoodz that's 2.3g of carbs per 100g.
Albeit with lower fat content
You can't really compare keto shakes/bars to regular protein shakes which YouFoodz is. You have to take into consideration the ratios of each. The YouFoodz is far less keto than these ones. High protein, low carb will kick you out of ketosis which is why you should never take whey or any normal protein powders.
@Saul Goodman: I was under the impression that keto is low carb and higher fats.
Im not saying the youfoodz is for keto… But I'm just comparing. For a keto shake i would have thought things like cinnamon etc would be more appropriate than…. chocolate for example
@Nav2k: Keto is low carb, low/medium protein, high fat. High protein without fat is not keto, that's just a miserable low carb diet (eg Atkins). I'm just saying if you're having a protein source, you have to make sure you are getting enough fat in with it also, or else it's not a keto meal/drink.
@Saul Goodman: @bitcoin: Reference for this idea protein kicks you out of keto. Read rumours, read rebuttals. Would love a real source.
@ozbjunkie: I'm not going to find a reference but after 4 years I know this diet. Everyone who knows about keto (not just regular low carb diets which can be very different) knows that if you take a large amount of protein without any fats, such as a whey protein shake, will take your body out of ketosis.
@Saul Goodman: Fallacious appeal to majority.
How did you measure your state of ketosis?
@ozbjunkie: You're welcome to use Google to find out the answers to any basic questions.
@Saul Goodman: I have, and have read assertions for and against. You made an assertion, and I asked for a reference. Now I see you're just another individual making unreferenced assertions. How unhelpful.
Sugar, sucralose and milk == dirty keto
It sounds tasty, but I agree with other posters, these shakes are definitely not KETO friendly as they contain milk, sugar, whey protein, soy, sucralose and will prevent you from entering ketosis and is not part of a nutritional ketosis / ketogenic lifestyle. There are numerous books for the sources on the info requested in other posts including peer review studies (search google scholar for this info) and detailed info about protein fat ratios. I recommend this book "Keto Clarity: Your Definitive Guide to the Benefits of a Low-Carb, High-Fat Diet" by Jimmy Moore, Eric Westman MD. For an easier way to get good quality info about keto, check out Dr. Eric Berg on youtube he explains the science. -This might be a good deal though for other purposes (other than getting into and remaining in ketosis) for a protein shake (it does sound tasty ).
I wish you had small sample packs to try first.
