    • Can you share your thoughts when you set it up please? Curious on ghosting, gsync compatibility, colour quality in particular.

Just picked up my monitors last night. x315 Pros. Well built. Looks great. There appears to be audio/speakers but they don't actually work - as per the manual. There appears to be a PIP mode, which I have briefly tried without actually connecting a second source. It does appear to work.

    • Omnidesk any good?

      • Too big to fit in my car. I will go back and get it tomorrow in a 4WD. I will let you know when assembled and tested. What I saw in store looked quite impressive. I didn't realise however that the "Pro" version is simply the classic with a curve cut-out. Probably better to save the money and get the extra desk space with the classic version. But the cut-out does make it more ergonomical to sit.

        • Cheers mate. Weighing between this and IKEA's version. This looks a better built tho but IKEA's warranty is longer. Not sure what it covers.

@grumpyhermit: Ok. I put together the desk on the weekend. Very nice indeed.

            The good:
Very smooth up and down motion
Four memories for heights - far more useful than I thought: In increasing order of height, I set 1st position for typing, 2nd for surfing, 3rd for viewing Netflix, and 4th for standing work - an unexpected bonus: it's much easier to hookup wires etc to the PC when you can raise the desk high up in the air :-)
When reaching a pre-set height, the speed of rise/descent slows purposefully just before the final position - a very nice touch.
The PC holding rack (optional extra) holds my desktop case very nicely - the white colour of the desk matches my PC case and the Aftershock monitors perfectly.

            The bad:
The assembly instruction is slightly off - there are 4 (non-essential) screws missing, and one extra piece of metal that the manual makes no mention of. As far as I can see, it's to (partially) cover up the power supply unit mounted under the middle of the frame…

            Vs Ikea:
This desk is much bigger - the XL version at least. Since I am running triple 32 inch screens, this is a necessity for me.
Omnidesk has 4 position memory, Ikea doesn't.
Optional accessories - like PC holder, etc…
            More expensive than Ikea.

  • Anyone know if you just take out the bracket, unscrew the 4 screws on the monitor to mount vesa mount?

  • expired. which is good as I almost bought something I don't need.

Has anyone received their monitor? Mine has been given to CouriersPlease for delivery and it’s just a big headache dealing with the courier.

    • Havent got mine yet :( but i did order it during the wierd easter / anzac holiday break. Got it shipped to my business address though, so usually that speeds up the process but thats not the casse

      • I have yet to receive anything other than a order confirmed email at time of purchase. I have emailed them twice to find out when it will ship and no reply.

        • I got the dispatch email on 27/04 and it was supposed to have arrived today but annoyingly it didn't. Every rep I talk to at CouriersPlease comes up with a different excuse as to why it didn't make it today. What's even worse is that there's only been one scanning event saying it has been picked up but nothing since :(

Just received mine today - postcode 6166. Received dispatch confirmation on 24/04.

      • Thanks for that. It's interesting that it has taken a whole week from dispatch to arrive at your location. Was it CouriersPlease who delivered it?

        • +1

7 days is pretty standard for me from east coast to west coast. Actually pretty good considering it included a weekend and a public holiday. But yes, couriersplease are terrible, give them an extra day or two tho before you worry.

Just got it today. Looks amazing.

So glad to hear you got yours. What was your ETA on your dispatch confirmation if you don't mind me asking?

      • +1

It was dispatched/picked up on 30/04 and ETA 01/05.

Hi all I never got a dispatch confirmation and after 3 unanswered emails and 2 Facebook messages to Aftershock someone finally called me and told me its out of stock and wont be in stock for another 2 months.

So if you haven't received a posted email I'd say you wont be getting one.

  • I still haven't received mine, I did get a dispatch notice but no details in the cosignment. 4k clicks, hopefully they can deliver to the majority of yall

  • I got this yesterday and been using it all day today. I must say although it is beautiful and sleek but I am not sure if this is suitable. It's so wide and the games that I play may be overkill. Netflix movies is a bit blurry. I starting to have cold feet about this purchase.

    • Netflix movies is a bit blurry.

Are you on 4k netflix, or 1080p?

      • Just Standard HD

        • Well that's why it's blurry on a 4k monitor…

          • @spackbace: Is this a 4K monitor?

            • +1

@prawnhead: No its not. But it is higher than Full HD Full HD netflix, even though it will likely have black bars on the left and right, should still look reasonably look crisp assuming your internet connection is fast enough and its not downscaling to regular HD..

Try watching a 21:9 movie on it and enjoy the fact it fills the screen and doesnt have black bars at the top and bottom, and then try a game that is optimised for 21:9.

I've just gone from a 32" 1080p monitor, which i had no issues with, and I definitely noticed an appreciable difference going to this monitor in PUBG after i changed the colour mode to movie or gaming. Regular and text were a bit dull but you do lose the colour accuracy in movie mode (for example i couldn't see the colour difference between the greys in the chrome tabs). Play around in the settings to get it looking nice before you start testing it. Mine is nice and crisp. If you are playing movies make sure the source is good.

              • @Riczter: How do I know if it has been downscaling? And where do I change the setting for it to not to downscaling?

                • @prawnhead: Don’t think you can… and I think you have to pay extra for 4K. Don’t quote me though I don’t know for sure.
Another idea, you could change your monitor resolution when watching Netflix to 2560 x 1080 ( ultrawide full HD) and then it should look crisper when watching 1080p content, and change it back to 3440 x 1440 (ultrawide 1440p) when you are gaming/productivity

              Yes

              • +1

                @spackbace: QHD != UHD

I agree with your point though, a 4k netflix stream would look better

                • +1

                  @Riczter:

                  Maximum Resolution 3440 x 1440

                  Sorry, it's 2K

Is not 1080p though, hence the blurry.

        • Are you watching on a web browser? Netflix is limited to 720P on Chrome

  • Received an email after following up all week saying there was an error and they lost my monitor and that they were out of stock.
Very disappointed, especially since they confirmed that it was sent but never sent any confirmation/tracking details.
They also were very slow to reply.
Based on their next response, I’m considering just asking for a refund as this is just unacceptable.

    • That is very disappointing unfortunately. Have they given you an ETA? if it’s only a few weeks perhaps consider waiting. It’s a pretty good looking monitor for the price.

      • The ETA is over 2 months.

        • Yeah, the annoying thing is they wont even give me a refund. They said upper management will get back to me next week. Even though I've been following up on it all week. Their rep mentioned a monitor could be in transit, but they actually don't know if it is.

I just want a refund! I don't get whats so hard about that.

I had such high hopes! I was even referring the product to others already.

          • +1

@revengz: That’s terrible. Sorry to hear mate. I guess their expansion into Aus isn’t going to be great with that level of service.

          • @revengz: Did you get a refund? I received my monitor from Dick Smith, same monitor for $40 extra.. no dead pixels and looks fantastic.

            • @HagglesworthMD: Requested for a refund, waiting on the funds to come back.

Their rep confirmed my order, but said for some reason didn't ship it out.
Which was not helpful at all, as he had no answer to why it wasn't shipped out.

              Disappointing experience overall.

    • Yeah they were very slow to respond to me also, quite dissapointing really. Get a refund and get the Kogan version from Dick Smith, $39 more but same monitor

  • I ordered the 31.5" one and they were very quick to reply to my emails when I set my shipping address to a parcel locker which needed changing.
I think they may have gotten OzBargained and probably went in search for stock of the 34" and were probably stalling trying to source more of them.

As a sidenote, my X3150 Pro this morning and it's even better than I expected.

No dead pixels, runs 2560x1440 at 144hz and you can enable G-sync in Nvidia settings as well - delighted with it.

    • I got mine X340 34" about 10 days now but unfortunately I have a pretty obvious one dead pixel. The website said no refund for one dead pixel. Damn.

      • +1

        Ahh crap, that's a shame.

There's some youtube videos (that would give you a seizure) and some dedicates sites to try help with dead pixels - may be worth a shot.
Here is a site for it: http://www.jscreenfix.com/fix.html

      • Got min X340 around the same time, and it also comes with two dark dead pixels in a cluster which makes them quite obvious. Sad :-(

        • Oh, that sucks. :(
I wonder is this a dodgy batch of X340's or something? I can't really fault the X315 but maybe I was just lucky.

I've bought Korean monitors before and this was always a risk unless you paid an extra $100'ish to get a "Pixel Perfect" version, which Aftershock don't seem to advertise.
