30% off these great wireless speakers, I have one of these at home from one of the previous Amazon sales for $147, no hesitation to spend $174 for another one if I had the cash…especially the seashell peach.

All colours should be readily available for C&C and the promo code will be generic.
Can be redeemed instore too.

Was just about to post it, you beat me to it.

    Currently on kogan for $189

Was cheaper here but seems to have been pricing error; https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/433838

Also don't forget to use your $10 voucher from this deal: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/448441

    • +1

It wasn’t a price error. Many including myself got it. It was sold out at the price.

    • Bought one just then, girl in store said you can't use 2 vouchers on 1 purchase, so the $10 voucher cannot be used in conjunction with this one.

  • Price beat by 5% at Officeworks

    • Can you do that even though their website ticket as $249?

      • +1

Recommand to call them or ask instore

        • +1

Can confirm that they will price match - you need to have the deal on your phone to show them

          • @Sir Flabo: Price beat sorry! I got it for $165, though my local only had a few colours left - so that might be worth asking about if it matters to you.

    • +2

      Officeworks don't match coupons

    • -1

Don't waste your time trying to pricematch. They don't match purchases made with Coupons. Cheers

      • +2

I literally got them to price beat it today to $165

        • Maybe you got lucky as their pricematch seems to be hit and miss. But looking at their T&C, use of coupon code is excluded.
But again, I bought it from JB for less drama.

I was lucky enough to get one for $100 with the Heineken promotion mid last year. I personally prefer my JBL Flip 4 if you can live without the 360 degree sound. Tested them side by side and the Flip 4 was far more impressive for it's size.

    • Unfortunately the deal didn't last long. https://www.topbargains.com.au/first-choice-liquor-buy-any-2…

      • +5

The deal actually lasted until the end of the promotion. I was amazed that more people didn't pick one up. You basically got 2 free cartons of beer for the price people are paying for this deal.

Hard to justify another at a “sale” price since getting one with the beer deal!

    • I haven't tried the Flip 4, so grain of salt here obviously, but I've owned some of the others from the JBL range along with the Megaboom 2 and 3. I've been far more impressed with the sound quality and battery life of the Megaboom than others. Just gotta aggressively EQ it (but it's not like any of the others are an exception to requiring tweaking).

      • +1

+1 for battery life, use it regularly and feels like a barely ever charge it. Also build quality on these is top notch, rock solid.

Sound wise, the range is good, sound is strong and balanced through the volume range. I'm not an audiophile, normally kids running around or other noises in the mix hence I don't feel the need to get too picky about hung up on the specifics of sound quality on things like this.

  • +1

i have 2 - they work amazingly together

  • Any difference between this

    • The deal has expired, also that is a Boom 3, this is a MEGABoom 3 - basically is bigger, has more battery life and stronger bass

      • Thanks, now have to decide one among them

        • Probably the biggest factor you need to weigh up is the size. The Megaboom is significantly larger, not just a little bit. So if that suits you just fine, then it would be worth going with the Megaboom imo

I think the Megaboom also has +5hrs of battery life on the Boom, which is significant.

  • Anyone able to compare one of these to a Anker Soundcore 2? My wife often listens to music but finds the soundcore a little weak and the sound quality isn't fantastic (although certainly not bad).

Also this vs one of the smart speakers at a similar price (Google Home, Sonos One, etc.)? Is this much better for sound quality?

    • Smart speakers generally require power vs this has a massive inbuilt battery. Would be probably similar to google home though sound-wise, but reckon sonos would be a higher quality sound.

    • +2

The Megaboom 3 ($175) is unsurprisingly a dramatic improvement to the Soundcore 2 ($45).

    • Well I'm not sure if it helps you but I've made a similar jump from Anker premium speaker to JBL Charge 3 ($108 @ Harvey Norman) and I like my decision a lot. The bass, clarity, volume everything is much better. Usually JBL sound is better than UE. It's just my two cents though.

  • Has anyone compared this to this original Megaboom?

What’s the sound quality like 2 generations on?

    • We own both generations, I'd honestly say the sound is better on the first Megaboom, but only if you're splitting hairs.

      • Good to know! I don’t need a second one and FOMO is setting in so that’s a good enough excuse for me to save my cash. Thanks :)

I bought this 3 months ago, I would rather have the Sony one my friend has (similar price). The higher mid and treble frequencies is severely subdued. Not to my liking but bass output is decent for it's size. I know, I know….wireless waterproof speakers and 'sound quality' is an oxymoron but there are speakers that sound so much better than this model with both traits in check.

Would this survive living in a bathroom with the constant steam?

  • +1

Got one with the beer deal, only good things to say. Obviously not for audiophiles but a big fun sound, great 360 degree output, very durable, easy connection can't go wrong

  • I have this and honestly the sound quality is pretty crap
I'm no audiophile but it just loses a lot of clarity even vs laptop speakers

Maybe due to waterproofing and 360 sound
If you're using it inside i'd look elsewhere, the main benefit is the 360 sound

    • Not sure "360 sound" would even make my top 5 benefits, let alone the "main benefit". I'd argue the main benefit is portability to quality ratio and impressive battery life, followed by durability and sound quality. Pretty nifty that anybody at your gathering can just sync up and play from their own library too. You're in a very unique demographic if the "360 sound" marketing is your only takeaway. Also, you must have a pretty fancy laptop, even if we ignore portability/practicality/durability/risk, my overpriced Dell with Waves endorsed sound is out performed by these.

  • Can anyone compare this to the JBL Charge 3? Currently going for $108 in HN, thinking of getting that instead of this…

    • I reckon JBL Charge 3 actually sounds better but Megaboom 3 is slightly louder. Just go have a listen in store as sound quality is very subjective.

Bought one today online @ jb for $124. Ticket price was $199, used voucher for 30% off. Couldn't stack with the $10 voucher from linking receipt to account, but paid with a gift card I bought for 5% off through Suncorp rewards.

    • Might get one today… Which colour you go for?

      • Was a tough choice… But sunset red
