Descriptions from Amazon:
The Klinge series is our premium line of cutting tools by Capri Tools. The Klinge High Leverage Combination Pliers have our expertly hardened high-carbon steel cutting edges that cuts through soft wires (4.0 mm), hard wires (2.5 mm) and piano wires (2.0 mm). 55 HRC cutting edge hardness achieves optimal balance between toughness and edge retention. Crimp insulated and non-insulated solderless terminals and connectors for 10 to 20 AWG wires. The pliers are constructed entirely of premium Japanese forged high-carbon steel and underwent state of the art heat treating process. Combined with our superior bevel design, our pliers stay sharp over time. Our high leverage mechanism enables you to use 50% less effort than conventional pliers. The flat and round serrated gripping jaws gives you the ultimate grip on both flat and round objects. Minimum gap between flat jaw tips lets you grip onto even thin sheets. A thin profile makes these pliers lighter and more agile especially in tight spots. The Klinge High Leverage Combination Pliers meet ASME B107.11 standards.

    Do I need these…? No

    Will I buy these…? Yes

Hm don’t feel like signing up to prime for these and I’ve used my free trial.

Anyone able to buy a pair and ship to my address on my behalf?

    • Found; thanks all :D

It only takes three clicks from me seeing something I don't need on OzBargain to successfully ordering it on Amazon, what a time to be alive.

It says normally $11.99 so its not a massive saving… i know you have listed the $US cost for the item but if it normally cots $12 shouldn't we compare to that?

    • Indeed, a $2 saving certainly doesn't warrent an impulse buy. I'll happily pay $2 more if and when I actually need them.

      • hehehe i've already impulsed bought more than enough today as well…

    • got it - never mind

      • thats what it said when it was available (i think is now not available from that seller) had 11.99 which was then crossed out and sale price was 9.99 .. most likely the seller is now out of stock :)

    • I've bought one myself about $13. That's a whopping 30% saving this time…

      • Ouch that could buy you half a McDonald's menu if your willing to give up your dignity and/or waste a bunch of food Hahahahaha

What does "Use 50% less effort than conventional pliers with our high leverage design" mean. They look like normal pliers to me. There are pliers such as these https://www.bunnings.com.au/kincrome-200mm-x-force-long-nose… which do multiply force. I have them and they work great but the ones in this post look like normal pliers. Am I missing something?

Marketing gimmicks, pliers are pliers imo, they all have a multiply clamp force.
My tennis ball bounces more than other conventional tennis balls! (true story)

Except that some do actually muliply force (like the ones I linked to) compared to regular pliers. They have a mechanism that moves the handles over a much further distance for the same amount of jaw movement giving a mechanical advantage. They give much higher jaw holding power for the same hand pressure.

        • Dunno about 'mechanism' and it's no 'gimmick' either, it's physics. The further away the point of force is from the fulcrum the more linear force or momentum you can generate.

          • @Skinnerr: Yup. Longer handles.

          • @Skinnerr: No, they actually have some additional action, not a simple leverarm.
Take a look and notice the extra pivot pin.

          • @Skinnerr: I certainly understand the physics of what you are saying fo regular scissor action pliers but if you look at the ones I linked to they are not a simple scissor action set. There is a different mechanism (not just 2 peices with a pivot pin).

I think this price should be compared at $13.97 on ebay. https://www.ebay.com.au/p/225mm-High-Leverage-Combination-Pl…

    • Compared in what way? That the Amazon listing price is ~30% cheaper?

      • Should be self explanatory in terms of savings.

We don't need another jv mate.

  • Thanks OP. Ordered One for testing. :)

  • Bought one a few weeks ago for $12. Excellent quality. It's forged in Japan.

I prefer my tools forged in Mordor…

    • What do you use them for?

Just got a call from some bloke called Saruman. Seems he has a plumbing problem.

went to buy it, had in the cart, reactivated cashrewards and now its $29. so close.

It’s OOS from Amazon AU, and the price you are seeing is from Amazon US.

  • Price's at $29+. Capri makes decent quality tools. Really wanna get a couple of these…

  • I received mine today, they are 'single action' pliers, though obviously good quality, they do not have the extra pin for more leverage. I think they're just well designed to get maximum leverage for the given effort.
