I found purchasing through Bing Lee on eBay worked out to be cheaper postage for me. I wanted 14 globes, through their website postage was $84, through eBay $48. Plus use PLOT10 code for 10% off. Came to $21 a globe delivered.

Good idea, although nearly every eBay order from the good guys has been cancelled. Except a Bosch oven which was on sale + 20% + $200 cashback.
      Thankful they came through.

      • why were they cancelled

        • +1

Webber accessories were pice errors and PS4 games blame the store for no stock. The risk of chasing clearance stock.
Unsure if this is clearance or a sale

*Note, the coupon code is $120 minimum spend.

  • I have one but I can't get it working because I don't have Hue Hub

    • yea that is a requirement, or a amazon echo plus

You would of been better of getting the starter pack first

      • thanks, I would rather sell the light bulb on ebay.

        • If your not needing smart lights then probably best, otherwise its uses less power when off then a wifi lifx etc bulb

  • Single Bulb B22 ebay sold out
Please enter a quantity of 0 or less

  • Looks like all the B22 are out of stock, only E27 left

  • Does this work with the Google Home?

    • So long as you have the Hue hub, yes

      • Hmmm, pass. Thanks for the info.

        • +1

its zigbee which is why you need a hub, its better and more reliable then wifi

    • Yep, and nest protect and homekit etc

  • Did anyone get a screenshot when there was availability?

  • +1

Any good alternatives that don't require hub to control them?

    • TP Link Not as cheap though

    • lifx which will cost you a bit more and will use more power in off/idle mode to keep the wifi connection

    • +1

hue and lifx are your best lights around for quality and compatibility with all platforms.

I have replaced nearly all my yeelights with hue and Lifx bulbs (mainly hue)

    • Like most people you will likely find smart lights are a slippery slope, and just getting "one to try" quickly becomes 10 then 30+ lights, sensors and switches especially when combined with voice control.

So IMHO it's better to just get the hub and take the initial outlay hit, it makes things much better in the long run then running a bunch of wifi globes.

    • Also hue has sensors, switches that seemly connect to lights no smart things or other controllers required

    • +1

You really want a hub, wi-fi lights are typically not as responsive. The Zigbee protocol is highly suited to this use case.

      • +1

Especially if you dont have a decent Access point, otherwise you will hit your wireless limit very quickly on a cheap modem wireless router

Thanks OP. Local Bunnings just price matched so got 8 x ES for $17.10 each, so Bunnings nationwide should have the ES for $19 for a week. Get in quick while they have stock.

  • +1

Manage to get it price matched in my local Officeworks (VIC), got marked down to $18.05. I only need one and am very happy.

  • +1

Well Bing Lee just cancelled my order purchased through eBay, typical reason of "unforseen error", absolutely pathetic. Should have gone with Amazon.

  • Bing lee cancelled my order for 1 globe due to no stock

  • I was just refunded my order of 5 bulbs due to no stock.

  • Price beat at Bunnings for 10% off the price at Bing Lee.
