Thanks mate, got BF5 on PC.

    • How you enjoying it, very mixed reviews but I've generally always been happy with the BF franchise..

      • +2

There are problems with the game. But the game was review bombed, so I would take the rating with a grain of salt. Have a look at gameplay on Youtube and maybe have a look at the BFV subreddit

  • +7

Thanks, it's great that Amazon is matching these, makes it a lot easier! Good time to have Amazon Prime.

    Cheers

And we wonder why job security and wages are going to shit in this country.

      • +13

        People playing too many games?

      • +10

I love when people say shit like this, you know Amazon hires people too. Also maybe all these other stores should have done a better job online and people wouldn't have flocked to Amazon.

        • +10

Amazon treat their workers like slaves

        • +5

While I love Amazon, you have to of course understand that 'all these other online stores' simply CAN'T compete, it isn't because they don't want to. Amazon is a million times bigger, and these stores can't hope to match their pricing - at least not on a regular basis - and hope to make any profit. Same with EB Games, if they sold all their games at the same price as Amazon, they'd not be financially viable as a business.

        • Yes, they hire people until they can automate the warehousing jobs and get rid of them. They're trialling supermarkets overseas with no staff. Brb paying no tax as par for the course for overseas conglomerates. I love it when people say shit like this.

        • Have to agree with you. If more people stopped whining about Australian jobs and wages and started finding gaps in the market we'd be a much more successful country overall. If stores here cant compete they should gtfo and find another niche they can succeed in. Love Australia, wish we didn't have such a working class mentality.

          • @mightyfes: @mightyfes, trust me it's very easily said but not as easily done! Finding the gap and maintaining that gap is very dificult, It's something that has been getting more and more difficult every year and I'm truly worried for local businesses and workers, it's very tough and by no means as easy as it sounds…

If you think you have a great idea that will work as a local business I really do encourage you to start a business and help support locals (I honestly do wish you the very best and hope you succeed) but I fear like the vast majority you might not find the gaps as easily as you think and it will be more of an eye-opening experience but give it a go!

Competing with international and large corporates is by no means easy, they have very very deep pockets and if you start that business I just warn you to be smart and careful with your desissions… GOOD LUCK!

            • +1

@Jonc: Thanks for the kind words. People should be as encouraging as you instead of being complacent and doing nothing. Yeah doing everything worthwhile is hard otherwise everyone would be doing great. You sound like you have been extremely unsuccessful and had many failures. Keep at it and you'll get there. Best of luck.

              • @mightyfes: @mightyfes, thanks mate… trying to live the dream :-)

No point buying games at release anymore when they're less than half the price just a couple months later

    • +3

It's always been this way, unless you're buying first party Nintendo games which are weirdly often cheaper on release day than months later. Ubisoft games in particular always seem to be about 40% off 3 months or so after release.

    • +5

6 months is more than a couple, but yes waiting is often worth it.

    • Red dead 2 still sitting happily at 69+ :(

      • +3

Don't expect it to drop anytime soon if GTA5 is anything to go by

      • +7

I got it for 47$ on Amazon pre-order, only a week b4 release.

        • So did I but it still has the plastic wrap on it hopefully I will get time to play it one day.

      • Actually Amazon have it also at the moment for $58

        • +1

for someone who won't get around to playing it for some time, is there any reason a Deluxe or DLCX GOY version will come out?

I hate buying games and then a GOY version comes out for cheaper especially before I have a chance to play it.

      • $58 at JB currently

      • -1

Much cheaper elsewhere at the moment.

      • It's $59 at BigW right now.

  • Thanks OP. I was wondering when Amazon would match BigW

  • If I buy the Xbox copy (digital) of AC Odyssey, can I play it on PC?

    • -3

Why would you be able to?

      • +8

Some games are XBox Play Anywhere titles that work on both XBox One and PC when you get the digital versions.

This is not one of those titles.

        • ok thanks…

I think the future is that all xbox dig games sales can be activated on PC.

          • @frostman: @frostman: That's the case for all game developed or published by Microsoft. Not for 3rd party games.

    • No.

    • Only if you buy it from the Microsoft store directly I think

      • Only works for some Microsoft-published digital games. This is not one of them.

        • +1

          Fair enough, I stand corrected

    • That only applies for Microsoft games. Forza, Gears Of War etc.

Damn I guess I was mistaken. I swore it was only for the Microsoft games. Well, windows store is ass anyway so I guess it doesn't matter too much.

    • Is there a way to get BFV as a digital copy for this price?

      • -1

The physical copy is just a Box with a digital copy download code. So buy this if you really want a digital copy. Just have to wait until tuesday to get it :/

        • Oh really! Amazing - so would this be then registered to my Microsoft account, same as any other download code (for instance from CDKeys)? I do the home Xbox trick to share games with my brother. Thank you!

          • @snoopydoop: Hi, can you confirm that this was the case? I'm looking at doing the same

            • @PharmerDan: No, Todes Angst was incorrect on this. It's a disc - no digital code in the box. Does anyone know if there's any chance of returning it once the box seal has been broken? My Xbox isn't really accessible to be putting discs in and out.

  • How's the lobby on ps4 for BF:V? Many servers populated?

    • Still going strong, especially with Firestorm having just launched. Great price.

      • Last I checked PC, it dropped off dramatically. Stopped my Origin premium and contemplating picking it up for PS4

        • +1

It has and latest update this morning Micro Transactions are back. Also matchmaking theres not enough players in Aus/NZ so your ping is about 180-270 for every match.

It's the biggest disappointing BF game.

          • @solidussnake: Sounds like I will just give BFV an all around pass now. Cheers for that.

    • +1

They should make firestorm free and charge $30 for people who want the full game. Then push microtransactions for Firestorm to make money back

      • Is Firestorm not free with the standard BFv? I thought EA is giving giving all the DLC free for BFv.

        • No. I mean make it free for people without BFV, so they can play it without buying the game. Then sell the rest of the game for people interested in the campaign/multiplayer

  • +1

Nice one and thanks for updating the Big W post. Handy indeed for those that can't get them there.

I think I’m on roughly 70ish hours played on AC:O. It’s a great game. My fave AC title since AC2. One of the best value season passes around too.

Tempted to pull the pin on Hitman 2. I think it’ll only continue to fall in price though.

    • Never played a AC title, would this be a good one to start off with?

      • Yes it's very good

      • Absolutely. Apart from the first few games, the stories are contained to the individual game and don’t really need any knowledge of previous games. In saying that AC:O is only really similar to Origins, it’s a bit different gameplay wise from all the other instalments.

  • Thanks for the deal! Picked up AC for myself!

  • i'm here to support big w!

  • +1

Got fatigued with AC games for a while there but think I might jump back in with Odyssey.

  • Everytime I see AC Odyssey it makes me want AC4 on switch. The naval combat is the best part of those games.

  • Thank you OP.
Got local eb games to price match cause my b w was outta stock.
