the a1 was android one, the a2 should also be android one so should be on android 9 pie ?

the a1 lacked band 28 and nfc ….. with the a2 i see its 2 things they still haven’t added, especially nfc.

when my a1 broke i went with nokia instead , has nfc and band 28.

    • Which nokia

      • 5110

        • We bought a 6.1 and a 7 plus

          • @garage sale: 6.1 doesnt have nfc and b28 though

@kehuehue: Does in Australia …..got it from JB

              • @garage sale: Cheers good to know. Read it from an OzB thread on the product that it didnt

Does it come with dual sim?

  • I'm still running the MiA1 With pie :) custom rom called pixel experience works fantastic

    • How's the Pixel Experience better than stock Android?

Wait…does the Mi A1 not have a Pie update?

      • It does have an official Pie update. Came OTA early January if I recall correctly.

  • Hmm, guessing the recent Sharp S3 deal would be better than this? I can't live without NFC now.

Yea! Better phone and cheaper!! I too will not by a Chinadroid without NFC these days.

Good price for a spare phone but too little internal storage.

10 USD more for 64GB on AliExpress.

    • Agree as this does not have expandable storage.

For people happy to use Vodafone/Kogan/wifi and not fussed about NFC, this is a great phone below $300.

Really nice solid build with most likely better cams than the Sharp S3, but is heavier.

Hi all, first time commenter so please be gentle.

I've been in a bit of a situation with BangGood's support. I purchased this phone for my partner and after a few months it stopped working (hardware fault).

I put in the request with warranty which states on their website that there is 12 months of coverage.

After 4-5 emails back and fourth they told us to go to a repair shop to fix it in which they will reimburse us for the cost (up to $150 AUD). They said they will not accept the unit for they "don't have parts'.

Took the phone to get repaired as they told me to, $49 quote fee just to have it looked at, in the end resulting to the device being beyond economical repair.

I told them the situation, insisting that I send the unit back to them. It's been more than a month and a half of constant back and fourth with them now telling us "So sorry to tell you that our supplier can not help you repair this item since it is in Global version.".

It's a real shame with their support now leaving me with a phone that has a hardware fault within warranty and $49 out of pocket. No reimbursements, nothing.

Whilst this is a bargain, I just want to say tread with caution, while Catch of the day or Kogan sell it for a bit more, at least they will have to abide by Australian consumer law.

    My two cents. Cheers.

    • Honestly you are lucky banggood offered any solution at all. Any Australian retailer would of told you to go straight to the manufacturer and at best would send it to them for you.

It also should be accepted how unlikely you are to receive any hardware support from a Chinese manufacturer

      • Agree with you, it's just a shame especially seeing they state such coverage in their T&C's. I must have been lucky in the past so far having had good experiences with overseas companies.

Had you paid with Paypal? You could raise a dispute within 180 days of purchase.

    • "fastida" I feel your pain for this broken phone/warranty issue as I am also wary buying grey import tech over $100 in case of warranty problems. I have only had one issue with a Xiaomi bluetooth speaker being DOA ( worked for some minutes until I inserted a micro usb cable to charge it , then dead ) from tomtop, and after sending it back got a refund including return post, so good result there. So after that ordered a Xiaomi RN4 from Gearbest which is still working 100% 15 months on so no probs there either.

Did Banggood pay you some/any money towards your quote/broken phone as they said they would pay up to $150 AUD ?

Did you pay using PayPal? If not do you think that might have helped your case at all?

Hope you get a satisfactory result soon.
